As part of ArtByte's 3rd anniversary, the founder announced the development plans for the upcoming year, including an innovative mobile app allowing artists to post work and receive tips via the app with just one click.

Development plan for this upcoming year

Lite wallet - With over 3 years of transactions stored in our current Windows, MAC, and Linux wallets, the download takes several hours. So to make it easier and faster for our new users, we are developing a wallet that only stores recent transactions. Of course all transactions are still available in our full wallet for those who want them. And of course, the Lite wallet will continue to include our built-in pool mining.

Improved iPhone wallet - A simpler wallet, designed purely in an app format for ease of use. Like our current Android wallet, this wallet is a simple, clean, fast app geared to mobile users.

Advanced wallet for power users - This wallet is made for traders/investors and will include direct links to all exchanges where ArtByte is traded, links to tools such as our blockchain explorer, news via Bitcointalk, Twitter, Facebook, etc., and of course, our built-in pool mining.

ArtByte Music Store will accept Bitcoins, as well as ArtByte - There are currently no music download sites accepting Bitcoin. ArtByte Music Store is the only site currently accepting digital currency (ArtBytes) for music downloads. So we are adding the ability to accept Bitcoin payments as well as ArtByte.

Our music site will use an API that converts any Bitcoin purchases to ArtBytes, which will be deposited in the musicians ArtByte wallet. The addition of BTC payments will provide an additional service to musicians as well as introducing Bitcoiners to ArtByte.

ArtByte Gallery - The gallery will be a mobile device app unlike anything available today. Artists will be able to add media showing their work. For example, a painter or sculptor can show a picture of their work, a musician can upload a video or audio file, a dancer can show a video of a recent performance, an actor can post a video clip or their reel, a writer can include the cover and a few pages of their work. All types of artists, around the world can showcase their work. To make it easy for fans to support artists, the Gallery app will include an ArtByte wallet for the user. Also each artist's post will link to the artist's ArtByte wallet. So with just one click, any fan will be able to tip any artist directly from the mobile app.

Is trying to sell his coin to you, but it seems you are smarter than he is, 60% profit in crypto is nothing, people look for X10, even up to 20X from investment. Though the risk is high investing into them but most time the reward outways the risk

i think artbyte have possibility to gets increase soon but we don't know when. i see in the market, the price of artbyte is changing too often in a day or two days and i think its a good movement from the coins, as this coin don't have big market but still its a good coins and i think i want to buy this coins later.

artbyte coin before name is apple coin, is not good if trade use big capital money
because volume transaction in all exchanger accepted artbyte coin only 0.55 bitcoin
and artbyte coin is low price too, only 19 satoshi

The chart at the top of this thread shows one year. And I understand ArtByte held it's price, and at the same time BTC went up significantly. Many, in fact most of the smaller coins like ArtByte, went down over the year. The fact that ArtByte held it's price as bitcoin rose, and made real USD gains is significant. We are not one of the hot "new technology" coin trying to replace BTC, with an IPO that pumps and dumps, but a 2+ year old coin building a real community of users, and I think worthy of holding longterm.

There are many coins that doubled in the past year. You were just lucky that you managed to pick a coin that increased that much. If you are that good, I challenge you to post a prediction which coin will be able to double in bitcoin terms in 1 year.

ArtByte value was 18 satoshi 1 year ago today (on 25 February 2016) and it is worth 18 satoshi on today (25 February 2017)
This chart you have put here is showing the price starting from 1 January 2017 meaning less than 2 months and you keep saying a year!

and next time try to include a better chart from bittrex. the coinmarketcap charts are pretty terrible.

Personally I don't see the problem with that bitcoin has reevaluated like crazy in the last months, profit is profit even if it is on fiat, just convert ArtByte to bitcoin and then that bitcoin to fiat.

ArtByte price doubled in BTC terms over the same period:

I have to disagree, in order to spend BTC for 99% of consumer goods, it must be converted to fiat. So the value of any altcoin has to include conversion to fiat.

The problem is that you are quoting the price in USD, with is not very revelant nowadays considering the huge increase in price of Bitcoin.

ArtByte continues it's gains, with a gain of 147% Year-to-date, in real USD terms, according to Coinmarketcap.com

It is not forks that give a coin long term value, it is growth in the real user community. ArtByte is growing from its user base, by word of mouth, just like Bitcoin did in the beginning.

Yes you are correct. However as much as we all love Bitcoin, it is still in FIAT that we buy 99%+ of everything. Until we can all easily spend BTC in our daily lives, FIAT valuation matters!

ArtByte value is not based on technological speculation but on building a real user community for over two years and like with BTC in the beginning, the ABY price is growing slowly. And a gain of 61% is not bad!

Your chart is in USD, not BTC and the price is the same basically than it was a year ago.
If you look at the BTC chart you clearly see it at 0.00000020 in January 2016 and at 0.00000010 BTC on the first of January 2017.

Tired of short term pump & dumps?

In another year of crazy speculation in the crypto space, ArtByte gains 61% in USD value over the last year!

Beginning the year at .000076 USD to today's price of .000123 USD.
