It is a bluff.

It was a big fortune for Greek people the resignation of him from minister of finances. Him thinks that the real economy is like playing poker or playin withn video game. In both of them, but mostly in the first, everyone can use to much the bluff. And can be resultative. So this kind of behaviour this "big" politician has used even in the meetings about the agreement between Greece and other countries of EU. Not only that. But his words were like were the country of EU which has needs or are in debt from Greece and not the opposite.

In this point of view every his movement is motivated from the mentality of the game (in the theory of it he is a professor). Let's try this and let's try that. Let's make the bluff because maybe the others can fooled. Then if they do this, we can do what we want.

So even the story of the Parallel Payment System. He know very well that the exit of Greece from EU bring more bad things then better one. So the story of parallel money is only a bluff.

Even if it is not Bitcoin its good to hear that a Former Finance minister is weighing options and is willing to look for alternatives perhaps only because its a crisis mode but most don't even bother considering other possible options.
It's a pity hes not in power but he likely still has some influence and a wide net to pass ideas that could work for them which led to a retroactive scandal ah Greece.

Hmm interesting was the related article from FT sort of.

A paradox lurks in the foundations of the eurozone . Governments within the monetary union lack a central bank that has their back, while the central bank lacks a government to support it.

This paradox cannot be eliminated without fundamental institutional changes . But there are steps member states can take to ameliorate some of its negative effects. One we contemplated during my tenure at the Greek ministry of finance focused on the chronic liquidity shortage of a financially stressed public sector and its impact on the long-suffering private sector.

He's clearly aware on BTC, he has been in a couple documentaries about it and has as well writen about it in his blog, he even had a shared podcast with Andreas Antonopoulous. Now, is he talking about Bitcoin? I hope so, because anything else that isn't Bitcoin for serious monetary uses is a complete joke.
I doubt it's Bitcoin. He has been very skeptic about it and doesn't like the idea of an uncontrolled money so to speak as admited by him in his own blog. He made an article called "the dangers of an state-less money" or something like that, so I doubt it's Bitcoin. I wish he changed his time in the last year or so and he's full pro-Bitcoin now.
