For starters, Beginners & Help is the answer, there are already a lot of spoon-feeding topics on that board. If you want more knowledge about BTC, I think it's easier to watch documentaries than to look at the BTC discussion, since the basic info about BTC was already in the back pages.

Actually you cannot keep up with all the boards even if you try, but you can if you have the whole day, it's better to pick the important boards especially those boards that you can participate, but if you are going to participate in a signature campaign, it's better to be familiar on boards that your bounty manager directed you to be active.
Nah, it's probably one of the most favorite section since we are on a Bitcoin forum, but there are still some users who don't want there or they have a specific section, like in Gambling section, since they join in this forum just to discuss only gambling about cryptocurrency and they are a gambler, so they only stay on Gambling section.
Difinitely true whether if he/she is a pro grambler or not, newbie or not then they will only stay between gambling for gambling and gambling discussion for issues with a site thet gamble on or other gambling type issue. I even stay there for quite some time just to be updated with gambling sites and to refer to those who are looking forward to gamble.

The very first boards to look at is Beginners & Help, then Meta. After jumping to Bitcoin boards (you recommended), I advice newbies to read bitcoin books to have an overview on bitcoin's technical terms first. Then, they will be less overwhelmed by joining those boards.Some sources:

I start to look at Beginners & Help section since there are so many introductions guides for newbies which can really help a lot for startup after that i go with mining and trading section and learn about how to earn on this. But the one I regret to visit is the investors-based games section since by their I got scam a lot back on my newbie days so better for newbies to avoid this board since I don't find any legit sites there. I'm not sure about other local boards, but I'm most comfortable in the local section (Croatian). We have enough "old" users that are willing to help any newbie that comes by and the section is not that intimidating for a new user. And it's always better to learn in your native language than in English.

But I can say for the newbies it may not be easy from the beginning selecting the board they'll be more comfortable in, except if they came into the forum with a particular interest, for example, if they are curious about altcoins, they will more frequently post and stay in the altcoin discussion section. But those without any particular interest should visit more than one board surely, by doing so, you'll be able to form your interest, and when time passes you'd know the boards you are more comfortable in, and that's the ones you'll frequent.

You can browse as many board as possible but this is not needed. I don't like communicating on local board. Also, same topics need not to search on many board.

I can relate unto this actually (I am not as experienced as you think lol). I am not only going to Gambling Discussion but also to other boards like you mentioned. Just a clarification, I visit those boards not because its mandatory for every member here. I do it for the sake of learning It's doesn't matter if you want to be an active gambler ( gambling section ), a bitcoin enthusiast ( Bitcoin discussion ), or an economist ( Economics ). But don't forget to look up Meta, Scam accusations, Beginner & Help and Reputation board frequently.
. I mean, as long as you are willing to learn new things you will definitely find a way to get out of the isolation. So for the newbies out there. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zones. I'll guarantee you that you can adapt, just be courageous. Definitely if you are a beginner, try to read the forum first before asking some questions that were already raised before. You will be amazed how vast of information regarding cryptocurrency this forum has. Even subjects or topics that are hard to find from crypto websites, you will find it here. For me, this forum is like my first choice when it comes to crypto info, news, updates of projects, tutorials and many others.

Yes, I know it could be overwhelming for a beginner but you can educate yourself specially about bitcoin by just being a lurker. You don't necessarily need to post, just read and browse discussions and try to absorb the knowledge very slowly. You can bookmark the thread as well, so you can go back and read again. I read a some of Legendaries saying that they started here first being a lurker before they started to post. And that's how they grow in this community.
