What else do you expect him to do? He made false claims and now everyone knows, so he’s going to look for something else to say, just like he did after realizing that he won’t be able to expose who Satoshi Nakamoto was, and he then decide to claim that he might be sued for exposing him. His latest tweet is that he used the same method that was used to predict the 2017 bull run to arrive at his $1 million prediction. After that, he concluded by saying that Bitcoin is the real definition of a shit coin and not altcoins.

It's not quite that simple, because there's an extra step involved. People in the community follow the media and the media need to post sensationalist headlines because it's seemingly the only way they know how to get attention. We need the media to stop glorifying baseless price predictions, because that's what causes people to think it's important. It's not important, yet they keep reporting it. But, chances are, they probably won't stop, because they generally aren't well informed enough to report on technical matters. Plus the technical side probably doesn't yield as much click-bait traffic as the mindless speculation articles do.

I doubted it would ever be a million dollars per Bitcoin in 2020. Either the dollar value would have to crash to say a penny on the dollar for that to happen or Aliens from Outer Space would have to invade and say they are using Bitcoin for interstellar payments across the Galaxy lol. I would take everything and anything said via the Media by any so-called Prediction Gurus with a pinch of salt. As long as you got whales shorting it on Bitmex and Co, I don't expect the price of Bitcoin to go past 10-15k USD for a very long time. I prefer to be realistic and cautious and then win small as opposed to hoping BIG.

We should not trust any of this tech geek even though we know that they have established something big in life which we didn't but at the same time bitcoin does fall under their area of expertise so they should avoid loud mouthing about bitcoin and taking back on their words. You can just ignore him when it comes to speculation now that we know he exaggerate his predictions and now he also post fud. he can influence something as a popular person, at least people's attention to bitcoin moves quite a lot when he says that sentence. Frankly speaking i don't know why most of us waste the time listening to this dude anyway. He is an enthusiast for crypto mass adoption especially but i don't like his style of making all these insane price claims and later going back on his own words. I don't really give much attention to what he says about the price of bitcoin, i hodl what i can afford to lose and always take the profits when i am able to make some.

Right then and there I never expected too much from the guy. I believed that he was just trolling in order to gather attention to bitcoin and to himself, and that's what happened. He was a bright guy; a likeable one if you may, but his greed of money and the attention that he received worldwide changed that. I think avikz is right, it's not like what McAfee said sounded serious. If we promised to transfer a million dollars to a well-established charity if he loses, now that would be another thing. And to be fair, even though I think there's no chance Bitcoin will be $1M by the end of the year, there are still 11 months left, so technically McAfee did not lose yet. The latest message of his, however, is of course disappointing. But not because he won't eat his dick. It's because he does not believe in Bitcoin anymore, he thinks that it's not even the future of cryptos. And I don't think he could be more wrong about that.

John Mcafee may be a mad man. He is also one of the most notable supporters of cryptocurrency. While the corporates are trying to demoralize crypto users big time, we need supporter like him around us!
One thing I disliked about him is his attempt to promote ICOs without knowing the legitimacy of it. But for bitcoin, he is a rock-solid support. His approach is probably very different than a normal human being, but he is no normal human being!

People are always making their very own prediction on what the currency might be in the years ahead and sometimes it goes well for them and at other times it just doesn't pan out. His prediction was very unrealistic considering that bitcoin highest value has only been at $20K. Bitcoin getting to $1M will take a very long time and am going to say maybe 20 to 50 years.
