Good news and it would be better if they'll try to chase those ads that are promoting scam. Google and as well YouTube, should determine and have a way to filter their ads.
The same as with Facebook, they've now removed the ban for advertisement with cryptocurrencies. There's now turning of events and becoming in favor to bitcoin, we know that Facebook is about to launch metaverse, maybe there's also the same for google soon?

I myself really hope that Google accepts Bitcoin ads so that information about Bitcoin continues to spread throughout the world. Maybe today there are still people who don't know Bitcoin, so with Bitcoin ads on Google they can get to know Bitcoin. this will definitely push the price of bitcoin to be even more expensive.
They will accept Bitcoin ads. If they do not accept it now, they will do that someday. Bitcoin can spread with or without Google and even if Bitcoin ads do not appear on social media, that will not stop Bitcoin popularity. Many people still do not know about bitcoin, but they will get known sooner or later because bitcoin is already attracting people's attention. Those who know bitcoin will introduce bitcoin to their friends or other people in their places.

But if now Google are open the banned, that will be good news for people because they can introduce bitcoin from their site and that can make people who own websites get the ads if they use Google Adsense. But I am afraid that can give the way for the scammers to attract people's attention by visiting their site and offering a nice return by following their suggestion. If those scammers get the targetted people, they will get their money, making Bitcoin's name bad because people see Bitcoin as a way to trick them and get the money.

Yes, they are right about that. I started seeing the news that Google has lifted their advertisement ban on cryptocurrency since June. And I saw this news on different media websites when it happened, so it's a legit news. The ban on cryptocurrency advertisement lasted almost three years, and I even remember that there was a time they took down some contents on YouTube that had to do with cryptocurrency, but they later apologized that it was an error. And then they finally lifted the ban, which is quite good.

I used to wonder what could have led to their ban on cryptocurrency, and the thought I arrived on is that it might be because they feel it is too risky or they misunderstood it as a scam? However, it's good they finally changed their mind.

In this new regulation, ads related to crypto exchanges and wallet services have been officially allowed to appear on Google again. Advertisements related to trading services or exchanges as well as crypto wallet or storage services aimed at American consumers are allowed if they meet the requirements. Google's new stringent regulations aim to sort out bad projects fundamentally. In addition, strict regulations are also wrong. one way to help protect investors from potential fraud or Rug Pull.

we have heard things like this several times as stated in the topic above where it says that Google wants to adopt bitcoin or does not prohibit bitcoin from being posted on Google, but in reality this has not been realized until now we really hope this is not just a discourse considering Google has become a trend among the public.if there is an adoption or no bitcoin ban on Google, bitcoin will automatically be clearly displayed on Google ads which will make bitcoin return to a stable price or vice versa, don't get a negative opinion on coin noodles against us tonight. really come true
That is pretty cool and I hope to be seeing more progress that is like this. The progress of Bitcoin matters a lot to me and this community as a whole. I remember when Google decided to ban adverts that has to do with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, a lot of people were so worried and it seemed like there was no going to be a time when they are going to lift the ban on cryptocurrency. But, now things have changed and they have decided that people are free to run adverts that has to do with cryptocurrency and educate others. So, this is really nice. The cryptocurrency community should be given the opportunity to keep shining.

Google ads for Bitcoin are not bad. Every business in the world needs publicity, advertisement to project it. So ads on Google about bitcoin are good. Because Google is a big source of publicity today.
The publicity and advertisement will increase the value and worth of Bitcoin.
I have to disagree with everything that you've said! Most of the BTCitcoin related Google ads, together with a certain registrar [cough (Name)... cough (Cheap)] that doesn't care to clean up their mess, are the sole reasons that hundreds/thousands of scammers were able to achieve their main objective in the past few years and in regards to the subject field of this thread, despite what they were claiming in the past few years, they never really stopped such ads from appearing in their system!

That will be helpful to introduce bitcoin to the people.
But it's definitely the worst way of introducing BTCitcoin to newcomers!

Yes, this is good news, especially now that Twitter has also expressed support for BTC. The more social media and search engines that support btc, the popularity of btc is unstoppable. Hopefully in the future Mark Zuckerberg will immediately follow the steps of google and twitter, because if it is realized then not only facebook but instagram and whatsapp will also be on btc's side.

Google no longer prohibits bitcoin advertising, maybe because Google has realized that bitcoin is now very popular, so they no longer want to waste the opportunity to increase their income, the point is that bitcoin can provide extraordinary benefits to anyone who accepts bitcoin by hand. open..

They've always known it was popular, the problem was their staff and algo for Google Ads probably didn't at the time know how to differentiate between scams.

I bet they've just been training more people to recognize the scams and so now feel they are ready to do another round this time filtering out the ponzis and hyips.

As to what has been predicted before, bitcoin will experience temporary ban towards some huge companies but later on, things will get back to how it was before like nothing ever happened. Now it has happened, google are no longer banning ads that involves bitcoin and Tesla has been rumored to accept bitcoin as a mode of payment once again. It could be one of the sign that a bull run is about to take place once again so we should hold on to our investments more and keep on believing that it will regain its value or exceed it far more than it has before.

Google ads are getting circulated very commonly. Earlier the ban of ads by Google was a big speculative thing in the past. It made a big impact over the market of cryptocurrencies on the whole. During those days more and more number of fake projects reached the market and thats the major reason why Google made immediate action on cryptocurrency ads ban. Now the firms registered on FINCEN only were allowed on Google ads which is a good move.
On the time bitcoin has in ATH many projects on that day has no intention to be succeed and it become a scam in the end. Ill think many people complain about that happen and also that was the reason of why google ban ads of cryptocurrency. Actually more scammers growing on when the crypto has become popular in any social media apps.

And I dont think so if these will be a good news or bad to be back bitcoin in a google ads. Well let see what happen in a future about this news showed up.

Well, Google ban everything related to the hype of ICO in 2018 because it was being abused by the scammers.
I just stumbled upon a social media post today that Google lifted the ban from crypto related ads but the ICO related ads remained ban.
As bloomberg article says
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-06-02/google-will-let-crypto-wallets-run-ads-ico-ads-to-remain-banned
Google will allow crypto wallets run their ads.

It can only be bullish if they’re allowing exchanges & reputable companies to advertise again. Hopefully it brings lots more average joes into bitcoin because we need retail to flow in to restart this bull market.
The crypto companies that want to advertise on Google have to go through the regulation FinCen which is Financial Crime Enforcement Network and have certification for the same. This is only for US companies at this time and are stating this month as they have put ban on all such crypto related ads back in 2018 but now they have implemented changes in their policy.

Quote
That said, ads for Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) remain banned on Google Ads. In addition, Decentralised Finance (DeFi) trading protocols, and ads that are “otherwise promoting” the sale, purchase, or trade of cryptocurrencies or related products are also banned.

Google allow crypto ads now

This is good step and we can see global crypto exposure to many users as for most of the internet users google chrome is default browser and when they will see ads on it they can have some belief that cryptocurrencies are new mode of investment.Hope it works in best possible manner.

Honestly I feel like this is not even that bad, If google chooses to allow bitcoins and their advertising then they would have to take different steps to make sure all of that is not only safe, legal but also legit.
This is not a decision that can be made instantly, they do need to have enough time to plan everything and in general. I found a link tho : https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.in/cryptocurrency/news/google-is-allowing-crypto-ads-again/amp_articleshow/85033865.cms
They are keeping out a lot of companies. It started from August 3. They will only allow the wallets which are based in US and registered in FinCEN. Therefore this is not a really big deal, but will pave a way for the future of crypto advertising. This can also be used as a way to see how that works out.

Hope to see legal and interesting things instead of scam advertisements. If it is for decent real products and companies, the ads on the website will not be so bad. Cool
Scams in the cryptospace is going to be flourishing again this time, I think that the ban was a really good thing because it reduced the chances of scam websites being on top of the search results. I don't know why it's a good thing, maybe if we regulate and completely eliminate the possibility of scams getting at the top of the search bar, then there's a possibility that it's going to be considered a good thing.

If this will attract some people to join the encrypted monetary market, but pay attention to vigilance. However, the market will have a potential fluctuation because more people join.
I don't know if this ban will be withdrawn. If the content is true, the price of Bitcoin will rise.

Google banning the ads to begin with was due to many scammers and dodgy sites that are using bitcoin as a way to steal people's money, and setting a bad example and a negative idea about bitcoin and crypto in general, and by banning these kind of ads even though not all of them are so, we have seen less and less scams involving bitcoin, and i am afraid that with them lifting it we might see them come back even though it was not the best solution for it.

"Google is allowing crypto companies to advertise on its network again starting today, August 3.
The largest ad network in the world had banned crypto ads in March, earlier this year.
The new policy is only open to crypto wallets based out of the US and registered with the FinCEN."

To be honest, banning Bitcoin ads didn't help too much. Because I was still hearing about some people who were still having problems with the same frauds. So this means that banning these ads is not a permanent solution to this. Some other things should be thought of. Otherwise, we won't be able to prevent these scammers using ads to draw people's attention.

Bitcoin hit new ATH due to Elon musk rumor and playing around with his meme,it mean many people is believing a rumor so bad.

Why was it banned in the first place? I have forgotten the reason for the ban but the only thing that I can remember was that it was a stupid reason or something like that. Also, I feel like this isn't a special thing, I mean the ones that make benefits from this ads are companies that have the money to be on top of the search bar.

I already see many crypto-related ads in some of the sites that I regularly visit and I am sure they can be coming from GoogleAds. Let's see if there will not be an avalanche of scammy smelling ads because of the lifting of this restriction or should Google be more aggressive in its vetting process so scammers can have a hard time getting their ads approved? As for legit crypto-based platforms advertising their products or services then this can be a big opportunity to spend money and get results.

I have to agree with jackg, just keep the ban. I don't like censorship, but if you think about it, the only people paying for Google ads to use Bitcoin are crypto companies with zero interest in helping Bitcoin and 100% interest in making money. Sadly, most of this making money concept comes at the expense of users.

If people want to learn about Bitcoin, it should be from wiki, or solid educational channels. Not from clicking a Google ad.

I did a Google search and this seems to be over a months old news but it's terms to show ads are quite demanding, for those targeting the United States your need to know this
  • Advertisers must request new Cryptocurrency Exchanges and Wallets certification with Google
  • Ads for initial coin offerings (ICO), DeFi trading Not allowed
  • Be duly registered with
    (a) FinCEN as a Money Services Business and with at least one state as a money transmitter; or
    (b) a federal or state chartered bank entity.

Were they ever banned?
As I remember Google (alongside a lot of other services) banned advertisement of scams including the ICO and all the alternative names for token scams, cloud mining scams, malwares disguised as wallets, pump and dump groups, ... Any legitimate business could still advertise.
Same like China. They only banned ICO to make barriers on scammers. They want to restrict access of scammers to investors.

I buy Bitcoin and hold it so I don't care about bans from companies. Because they can not get my Bitcoin. Will ban from Google can damage institutional investment trend? Will people believe in CBDCs more than in Bitcoin?

CBDCs borrows idea and technology from Bitcoin & altcoins to help governments minting their money more easily and save production cost. The cost will be smaller than printing fiats in factories. They will be able to more easily trace flows of CBDCs through ledger. It will be easier than with banks.

The reason why they "banned" Crypto currency advertising was because they received so many complaints about ICO scams that happened during the ICO Boom period. That ban and followed by others on large Social media platforms, effectively stopped those scams from destroying the Crypto currency scene.

I have read that "screening" will be done on Crypto based applicants that wants to advertise on Google and they will only allow reputable and well known companies (KYC applicants) to advertise on their platforms.  Wink

Is Bitcoin a company or a product to be advertised? Grin
I assume that they mean companies that work in the cryptocurrency industry and use Bitcoin.
It would be great if all the shitcoin/token scams are still banned from using Google Ads.
Some shady crypto exchanges are using Bitcoin, but they are also heavily promoting shitcoins and tokens.

Maybe this one is just for the start and the next thing will be a big one since they already give bitcoin some green light here, they won't take it back as soon as they removed their ban on ads. took them years to do so but at least right now we can expect that more ads are coming but we also need to consider that scammers will also take advantage of this current lifting that's why we need to make sure about the site we are about to enter and their offer might temp us to invest in their scam so be careful guys.

I've also read this tweet just a while ago but I cannot confirm whether this tweet is based on reliable information or just rumor. Documenting Bitcoin itself did not cite the source. Neither did it even expound more on it. It could have referred to Google's lifting of the ban on cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet advertisements, which happened a couple of months ago.

Anyway, not a big deal to me. Google ads is full of phishing sites and scams. Not only do they allow them, they are also slow in removing them following reports.

The market is harmed by those news and changes in policies from both governments, big companies but they change their policies. Up and down, ban and ban lift.

I've never worried about these bans because I know they will lift unreasonable bans later. Governments need tax, ban lift together with more regulations help them. Companies need income, ban lift help them.

Together, we will see more bans and ban lifts with the growth of law regulations and bigger adoption on Bitcoin and crypto.

It's confirmed by @Slow death above and I also read that article but at least they didn't include the ICO projects, trading signals, or any affiliate that incentives those who paid the ads.  Good to see it was now lifted and in this case, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be common in Google and become well known to everyone who used Google.

But how about Google filtering their ads that contain a malicious link, they can't even do to fix this and give security to their users.

And Google has not tweeted anything about this ad being discussed. could it be secretly and when we visit a site or some kind of article it will display Bitcoin ads?
Because if google makes a tweet about bitcoin ads are no longer blocked, of course, it will have an impact on prices that should have bounced back today.

No, you shouldn't use tweeter for this news if you want updates related to their ads you should always check their announcement. Like this announcement below
- https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/10688110?hl=en

Because of this announcement, it won't be easy for those who try to advertise on Google to make ads for crypto unless if they are verified and registered on FinCEN.

About the price impact, this news is already posted by some users here and already spread on the news and blogs. It was announced last June.

As you can see on the chart the price of bitcoin reaches the 40k level from 30k yesterday so it might be one of the reasons why the price increased to 40k yesterday.

I am not sure about this ban, I think he never used it 100%. I've seen Google ads many times that promote crypto, what’s worse, there were some very suspicious projects on those ads.
I'm kind of convinced it's just money. although there is a ban if someone pays enough, it can be allowed.
there is more and more money in the crypto, google won't let that money just go away, without trying to take part.
Seconded on this one because i could still see those odds related with crypto which i can say that "is there really a ban?". Its true that Google wont really just let things to be on waste
specially they could really make money out of those and this is business and its likely they would really be letting those ads even its pure scam.
For now this is a good news if ever this is true. Adoption aint stopping now but at least they should really be that serious on moderating scam and possible frauds.

I think it's probably for the best that they keep it banned to be honest. Especially at the time it is now, if we are nearing the end of the bull market. I have seen a lot of dodgy ads on duckduckgo still and I have a feeling those might just move across (although, that's probably the reason they might be thinking of bringing it back if a rival can compete with them on something then they'll probably be trying to quash it to keep up competition).
