The only thing that we can do is to provide preventive measures just in case of malware due to hackers. Unfortunately, being an entity whose nature exists on the internet cannot escape the possibility of being hacked, no matter how secured or updated your engines are. For example, binance (one of the leading exchanges) recently was attacked and around thousands of bitcoins were stolen.

Re: As the price rises so should our sense of security rise

We should always prioritize security in general, regardless of what bitcoin's price is, as scammers will always be out there looking for potential victims regardless of the market situation.

This is actually true as being secured has a broad scope and contains no limitations as to the nature of the topic. Even if cryptocurrencies are not involve, being secured and providing contingencies may address future problems that may arise due to hacking. Better transport your bitcoins in an offline wallet or hardware for maximum security.
It is still a great surprise to me on how binance that has put millions of dollars to secure their platform was still hacked! It means we are not really safe and we just need to becarefull as bitcoin resume it upwards trend.  The hackers are looking for loopholes that they can capitalized on and that means we should be careful.

I remembered back then during the last bull run that lead as to a new ath crime related activities also increase relatively since it also got their attention as well, I wouldn't be surprise if that is the case now since I know it would only attract more criminals who have bad intentions in the industry. From HYIP websits to Phishing sites we all must be careful on what we do in the web because anyone of us can literally be a victim of them. Just by not be being careless and observative on what you do online could really on your protection, do not get carried away on websites with free downloads and other offers since they are the main culprits on spyware in your system.

Thanks for this but anyways, scammers and hackers will always be there. It's just that, you have to make sure to avoid becoming their target and victim. Because I do believe that if there is no victim, then no one will become a criminal. Only are they attempted to but they will fail.

Security must always be there. It must be merge together with your assets. Because criminals are always criminals. They don't choose a place. Any opportunity to make a crime will be grabbed.

Yes definitely security must be of top priority to every one am guessing if you read the body of the post you would have seen I made reference to it enclosed in a bracket.
But at this point if the market continues in this new trend it would lead to some rise in scam rate

It's true and it is recommended for everyone to keep their security 100% safe as possible. About the scam that may happen in telegram and how to prevent anyone from adding you to random groups is already posted before but still some still don't know about that  and I discover it when I posted the same thread here in this board where they didn't know about that in telegram.

Great and educative post we are always overwhelmed with the presence of scammers and hacker any time there is a bull run like this and one need to be careful on the offers you jump into because most of them are ways to get you scammed at the end, just like what we witness in the ICO market during the 2017 bull run where 90% of the icos turn out to be scam and run away with investors found. My only word for us is not to get too greedy and not jumping for any offer without due diligence.

We are witnessing a rise in the prices of coins in cryptocurrency and this is a good news going by the long run of the bearish market. This would come as a fresh breath but let's not get carried away the market is still a volatile one

In the wake of the good showing of prices in the market scammers has also dusted themselves up and like zombies are looking for who to feed off, there have been some recent scam, hacking cases which solidifies the claim that scammers are back(that if the ever left).
Also initial coin offerings project would start to resurface again and there has been numerous scam initial coin offering projects in memory in general there would be major scam invasion. So the need to be secured has arisen(should always be there in the first place).

I have noticed also newbies(properbly alts or account farmers)  has started coming as well. The landscape of the forum would become more active either positively or negatively but I urge every newbie should adhere to rules and regulations

Most of the scamming activities would happen outside the forum like peer to peer, social media, email etc
Here is a post on how to spot an altered screenshot https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.50824088
Here is my own post on protecting your email https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.49562515

Also on social media platforms be careful of the people you deal with or the groups you are in. Always be quick to report spam and leave or you can set your privacy from everybody(public) to your contact(mutuals) so you don't get added to groups by any one

It's important we all prevent scammer and fraudster from looting us or extorting our possessions
