a coin is as much worth as its community is active/growing and ppl are
ready to invest. asiacoin has a very interesting pos-rate and distribution model.
plus asiacoin showed us a solid base on the devs side and on the community growth.
so in my eyes this is reason enough for this coin to become VERY popular.
keep in mind how fast it got added to major exchanges and how popular it
is in china.

its the distribution model plus the interest payment. Multipools act like clearing houses for new minted coins. Since they have no interest in holding the coins, they sell at market allowing for proper price discovery. Savvy investors can buy coins at a discount during the PoW method. Any Return to the Mean Trader (think market maker/whales) is willing to take on huge risk as coins are being introduced to the market by buying during the PoW period.
PoS 1st year 100% gives early adopters protection against drawdowns if they hold coins and PoS mine. you can't compare AC to BC or WC because Asiacoin has high interest for the first year. Blackcoin and Whitecoin have low interest in comparison which doesn't really reward investors, but only really allows for inflation.
Its crazy mining has become very commercial for scrypt. This is a by-product. Both how the coins get distributed and the 100% POS model.

actually newest mintpal coin is Noblecoin, it was added yesterday together with AC but 30 minutes later.
Interesting coin, let's see how it develops.

On Wednesday the block reward will halve from 10000 to 5000 for the FINAL week of the POW phase and POS begins!
