IMO, the guy is doing a great job creating long forks, that allow people to test stuff which they cannot test on a real net.
He does include transactions. And besides its only 1GH/s, so I doubt it is an ASIC - rather some graphic cards from his scrapyard.

Might it be someone who is either trying to monetize testnet or alternately someone trying to show why monetizing testnet would destroy it.

It's funny how in the ASIC development threads everyone is saying Avalon should be testing their ASICS on the Testnet rather then the main net. That would be painful.

In the future, ASICs will be the norm on even the most useless alt-chain. I guess we better just get used to it.

EDIT: If the dig at someone trying to monetize testnet is at me, I don't have an ASIC, nor a fancy setup of any sort.

I was thinking favorable to your position or someone with the opposite position who just wants to show how vulnerable testnet is to manipulation in order to discourage monetization. Either is imaginable. I know you don't have ASICs or TRC wouldn't have got stuck waiting for a difficulty drop.

Also, just mine your own transactions then or use testnet-in-a-box? It's not like it takes months to mine a single block on testnet...
I only have a laptop and testnet-in-a-box doesn't work on it

TestNet3 is hashing with around 1.5 GHashes or less for very long time now.
Yesterday, all of a sudden there were 3 blocks per minute without including any tx...
So, no...

Yesterday there was up to 20 blocks per minute because difficulty dropped to 1 for 2016 blocks. Difficulty is 16 now, average block time around
1 minute. There are not many people making transactions on TestNet3, and with very fast block times just 1 transaction blocks are not so rare.
Indeed I wasn't clear, the problem is not that there wasn't any transaction, but that the miner didn't include any: I know it because I had some transactions waiting

Hey, that same thing is happening even on main net, and no one cares because there is no way to prevent such abuse.
I don't remember seeing empty blocks for more than 30 minutes on mainnet
Also, mainnet is mainnet, whereas testnet is made for testing and if miners don't include transactions testing would become kinda difficult

Anyway, I never said that the miner should be killed or tortured for doing so. As I stated in the OP: "I'm just writing down my frustration"

There's an ASIC fucker who is raping testnet without even including transactions
I know, pointless thread
I'm just writing down my frustration
There have been hundreds of posts complaining ASIC makers should be using testnet to test hardware and now threads complaining about ASIC's on testnet?? Not including transactions is out of line though.
