Side note: We just hit block 201452.

201452 * 50 = 10,072,600 Bitcoins.

10 million bitcoins could buy ~4000 BFL SC MRs at 1.5TH/s.

That's put the network at ~6000TH/s, 300x what we have now.

Now that's IF every single Bitcoin was given to BFL for MRs.

Here ya go:

Row 1: Type of ASIC
Row 2: How many GH/s per unit
Row 3: Number of units to get to ~ 1TH/s
Row 4: Row 2 x Row 3
Row 5: Price per unit (in USD)
Row 6: Row 5 / 12 (rough approximate USD/BTC price)
Row 7: Row 3 x Row 5
Row 8: Row 7 / 12 (rough approximate USD/BTC price)
Row 9: Row 4 / (Row 7 / 1000)

Rows 3, 4, 7, and 8 are all for purchasing enough hardware to get to as close to 1TH/s as possible (with the exception of the BFL SC MR, which can't go that low).

I wonder when they will announce the power consumption of the bASIC as BFL have already announced theirs.

That will be the next thing in deciding which is the better deal. Only time will tell.

Obv a lot of info is still up in the air, but for right now, here's where we stand:

The bASIC is the best GHs/1kUSD, but only by a little bit. The BFL SC Single and SC MR are behind by < 5% (but could potentially use less power), and the Avalon is behind by ~10% (but does not need to connect to a PC to mine, it's a standalone).

The Avalon (once the price goes up to $1999), Reclaimer, and Jalapenos are all around 30-40% behind the leaders.

I'll post my spreadsheet when I get home from work. Wink

Thanks for that, that would be great!

I thought the BFL single SC was also standalone? I could be very wrong?

Right now the https://www.btcfpga.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=58 is the front runner as I see it!

Are there better?

For value, I'd say you have a winner, but by only a bit. Let's hope they can come up with a Rig similar to BFL's and at a cheaper price...then I'll be a happy camper  Cheesy

Nothing 100% yet.

Quite right.
