"One hopes the PSU is auto-switching."
translation he hasn't even turned it on yet. so I guess I'm delusional? these pics haven't proved anything yet

The people who are denying the reality of ASICs at this point in time are delusional.

Keep up with the threads. Not only has he turned it on, he's happily mining away at 68 GH/s.

Until they can find a way to ship each order cheaply, others will not get their ASICs.  Smiley

The $400 for shipping apparently didn't include a tracking number either, or Avalon's rep didn't see fit to forward it to Jeff. This is a total cluster.

So what about all of the mainland China orders? 10 days is a bit long to ship something from China to China.

Fucking scrubs defending the Avalon scam.

Yeah, I am a scrub because I said it takes 3 weeks to ship from China to the US. I am stating a fact, not defending Avalon dumbass. From what I have read it seems like they only shipped 2 orders:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/announcement-avalon-asic-batch-1-ships-137534
Quote
First unit goes to Jeff Garzik in honor for the work he has done for the bitcoin codebase being the only developer who ordered from us.

we also arranged to ship a unit to the Bitcoin Foundation, whom is going to do a demo.

Jeff Garzik lives in the US. I have no idea where the Bitcoin Foundation is, but I would assume US. AKA those 2 units are shipping from China to US (3 weeks).

In conclusion: Go fuck yourself.

@Morblias:

I think they used expedited / express shipping; Yifu G. said they paid over $400 to get it sent to JGarzik, so I imagine the 3 week waiting period to him doesn't apply (unless they messed up on a customs form somewhere).

Give it a couple days.

EP
ROFL Give it a few days? They "shipped" 10 days ago! 10 days, and there is still no sign at all that they have units hashing! How many more days do you suggest we wait?

Have you ever ordered a product from China? I have waited 3 weeks before...
3 weeks is actually pretty standard for me, if not on the good side. It's more than a little annoying when you get products like the cell phone case I got 2 days ago that was for the wrong model and not the one pictured on the site. Now I get to wait... another 3 weeks.

I cracked it. The password is "1234" (nothing to be proud of).

The zip is not what it claims to be. It contains hashpower.com screenshots and a cat picture. Nothing about Avalon.
Thanks mrb.

2.4 days-ish?

If it's a false alarm, I'll delete this thread...  but I have a feeling...

That is 50/50 luck. Think in terms of running for 6-7 days without no love. Shit happens.
I would be all over the predictable pps at this point in time if it was me.
