Because having a glance through this article published few days ago, Craig Wright told a Norwegian court on Wednesday that he “stomped on the hard drive” that contained the “key slices” required to grant him access to Satoshi Nakamoto’s private keys, making it “incredibly difficult” to cryptographically prove he is the creator of Bitcoin, and later contradicting himself saying that Satoshi never had 1.1 million BTC but it was stollen, which he is here to recover it from the thieves, of and that can be done by court order...

Because all of us place hard drives on the floor and walk all over them until they break. Didn't you know that?
Since we're at it, I'd ask CSW how is it possible to destroy a hard drive by stomping on it. Last time I checked the case was metal. You can step on it and nothing's going to happen. Worst case scenario you'll damage the plastic connectors or the board situated on the outside, but I've done that, bought a damaged hard drive with working electronics for cheap and fixed it. It literally takes 5 minutes to replace the board and you don't need any special skills or equipment, just a torx screwdriver.
I'd like to propose an experiment. We'll place a hard drive on the floor, CSW will step on it and we'll check if it works. I bet 1 bitcoin that I can recover the files after that experiment.
CSW is a sad liar.
