It's plagiarism, no excuses, a newbie, a legendary, the rules are the same...

Recessions often hit vulnerable populations hardest isn’t new. But this crisis is unique. For one, there’s a divide even among those who are employed. Lower earners, who are more likely to be on the front lines, are at higher risk of Covid-19 infection and its resulting health and financial consequences.

Lower earners, those with less schooling, women and certain minority groups have borne the brunt of the economic pain driven by soaring unemployment.

This is really hard and chances are we are developing anxieties thinking on how to bounce back after this. What advice can you give to most people who lose their jobs and struggling to make ends meet?

If you really told her not to copy anything, then why did she copy a phrase from an article a day after she joined?

Didn't see that coming. Thanks. Things has been cleared, will tell her this.

Locked.

Edit:
The plagiarized content was made before I told her not to copy/paste

Hmm most probably she did not do her homework — she did not follow cabalism13's advice. Just my opinoion tho, only Metamorphosis20 can confirm that.

To be honest, the rules set are loud and clear. Plus, it has a Tagalog translation already so everyone is really expected to understand it.

It says that..

Quote
33. Bawal mangopya ng Post ng iba.
Quote
Sa #33: Mga na Copy-Paste na Post (kahit kaunting parte lang) galing dito sa forum o kahit sa ibang sites. Bawal mang-angkin ng sulat ng iba.

A simple rule yet she failed to comply, how sad Sad. You know what, maybe everything will not come this far if she at least quote the exact part of the article, include the source at the bottom and then tell his own insight about it. I saw few member doing such posting technique but don't encounter any problem at all.

It looks like this is a newbie mistake, she unfortunately, put her thoughts in the quote itself. But she also put the source below, so I don't think this constitute a perma-ban, in my opinion. Regarding her IP decaying overtime, maybe someone can enlighten us how long before it decay. So she has an idea when to create a new account if ever she really wanted to join this community and learn and be part of it.

Update: I suggested to her to create a new account  so she can go here in this thread and ask what to do next...but it seems it was marked as Bad IP. 😂

That's really unlucky for a newbie IMO.

Tough luck... but isn't a person that is banned no longer welcomed, since she could try to appeal but a plagiarism ban (intentional or not) doesn't stand a chance to be overturned here. And I doubt a mod, let alone theymos is willing to shed light on this matter. I understand how she feels because I've seen cases whereby senior members got permbanned for an ancient plagiarized post.

And not too long ago I was served a 3 days ban for refspam without an explanation , leaving me to find out by myself.

when you said, bad IP, you mean the IP has been blocked/banned?
as far as I know, ban or evil points on IP decays over time. she can try to appeal her ban when the ban on her IP has been lifted.

EDIT: I checked the "Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ" and I found this.

Q: Why is my IP banned? What are those units of evil?
A: Your IP might be banned because it was used by a user that got perma banned. Don't worry - IP bans decay over time if there's not too many of them during a small period. If you register using a banned IP, are using TOR, VPNs or well known proxies, you will have to pay a small fee. This is to prevent spammers while allowing legitimate members to post without many restrictions.

I think she needs to be unbanned in this case.

What about people that do repeated plagiarism and doing ban evasion with creating new accounts all the time and they are not banned yet (or even unbanned)?
One example you can see here:

Nobody gets permanently banned due spamming before first getting the warning, Metamorphosis20 has only 3-4 deleted posts. I have seen people get 60+ posts deleted without getting permanently banned for spammin

I think Metamorphosis20 is guilty of plagiarism. I just checked a few posts and got this.

.... A Covid-19 tracing software tool has appeared in the settings of both Android phones and iPhones as part of an update of their operating systems.
The "exposure notification" tool is switched off by default, and is not a tracing app itself.
It enables an app to run in the background while still using Bluetooth.
This lets the app measure the distance between two handsets - and then alert the phone owner if someone near them later tests positive for Covid-19.

To help understand whether you've been exposed to someone who reports having COVID-19, you can turn on Exposure Notifications. If you change your mind, you can turn it off.

I think there is something wrong with that post, as you can see there is a wrong bbcode, she might have mistakenly put it as a quote.
Besides I did warn her before she start post something here, so I really don't think its an actual plagiarism,... she even did ask me how to put jmage here LoL.

Going through her posts she puts some source at the bottom of her posts.

(Note: Just Use Google Translate so you can understand the conversation)
also try to look at the dates of the convo and the posted reply (accused to be plagiarized)

If she doesn't want to make a ban appeal she might also be sent a message to the specified appeal email shown on her ban message.

she did ask me about that...

but in this case, sending a personal message. I assume that there's someone who reported her, the unsolicited PM.
Unsolicited PMs are also classified under spam, and cabalism13 says she didn't send any PMs.

The ban message is probably a little confusing if you read through it quickly, but this is what it says

Sorry Metamorphosis20, You are banned from Posting or sending personal messages on this forum.
You have been banned by a forum moderator, probably due to spam or plagiarism...

EDIT: Plagiarism, found by Bitcoin_Arena but why the message appeal via sending PM.
Since its not spamming the reason, most likely plagiarism. There is message enclosed on the warning "You are permanently banned due to spam or plagiarism"

Given the details by @Bitcoin_Arena, that is the reason why she is banned. I thought due to the spam reported post that move to off topic. but its now crystal clear.

She frequently posted in Off-topic board and sometimes in our local, but I suggest to stick on our Local board since she is completely newbie.

If she doesn't want to make a ban appeal she might also be sent a message to the specified appeal email shown on her ban message.
Q: Why was my account banned?
A: You probably have broken one of the rules. Try emailing a message to the specified appeal email shown in your ban message.

As far as I know, the punishment of a user that has unsubstantial/spam post is a ban for 7 days, until continuously 4th offenses a user will be a permaban. (correct me if I'm wrong), but in this case, sending a personal message. I assume that there's someone who reported her, the unsolicited PM.

Only MOD's knows everything, let's wait for their response.

EDIT: Plagiarism, found by Bitcoin_Arena but why the message appeal via sending PM.

Ive checked her(female based on OP's details) posts. For me its natural and on appropriate section, though a lot of her post are on off topic section, not sure if those are moved topic or she really did post there. m thinking probably due to spam reason cause she has 8 posts within a day that has a short gap on posting.

I like to hear also the response of some moderator regarding this case, curious how a user get permaban provided that he/she knows the rule that off topic replied will be deleted or spam arent prohibited or any limits to kind of post that could attributed to a newbie account permaban.

Just Today, someone from my group who just joined the forum sent me PM that she was permanently banned.

More specifically it is said for Spam/Sending PMs. But she doesn't sent anyone PMs. I also looked into her history if it has a spam contents or plagiarism, but haven't found anything (she even got her first Merit from nutildah 😂), though there is a a comment from her that was marked as off-topic.

@Mr. Big, I think if she was guilty for spam then I think she should have atleast Temporary Ban Punishment.

Note: I told her to make an appeal instead of creating a new one, but the thing is, even I don't know how's the proper process although it has an email on the warning box... Coz I don't find it necessary if she creates a new account and make an appeal just for a mere newbie account.

P.S. She is really a Newbie here in the forum, and I only told to read the pinned messages on our local and told her not to plagiarize contents as she may just reply whenever she found an interesting topics. (also told her to not get involved on some users 😂)

My point here is: how can we get them to learn if we're already giving them limits in the first place???
