Purpose: To get the MB just to boot up.

The manual that came with the motherboard is useful at this point

0) Turn off the power supply and unplug it.

1) Pull all the cards off the MB.

2) Check to see if all the jumper(s) are installed and in the correct position(s).

3) Remove the battery for 30 mins and then reinstall

4) You should have some sort of cheap cable with a momentary on button that attaches to a motherboard header. This switch serves as the power on button. It;s easy to accidentally connect the MO switch to the reset terminal.

Before powering up, the goal is to attach a VGA monitor to the onboard VGA connector. Except for the power supply, VGA monitor cable and the power on switch attached to the MB header, there should be nothing else connected.

I would also exercise some care in doing this work if you are in an area where the carpet generates static while walking around.

Power the board and hit the power on switch. A minute or 2 later you should see the MB boot up. You don't need a HDD attached to get to this point. I believe that this MB will also display something even without any DRAM.

Yeah make sure you plugged in the power for the 8 pin. Also try a CMOS reset on the jumper if you have not already.

Another thing to look for is any short circuits, if you have it installed on a metal frame or some kind of getto shelf or whatever.

Did you plug in the 8-pin cpu power from the PSU to the motherboard?

Hi all, I've got this mobo and i cant seem to even get it to post?!
I've tried two different cpus from the compatible list on the asrock site. I've tried different ram sticks 2-4GB DDR3 and just 1 stick in slot 1.

On power up the cpu fan spins and then nothing, no vga output or even from a rx470 card....?

I have a system speaker attached and i get no beep on power on either?

possible dead board out of the box brand new?

never had that before..............?

kinda out of ideas?
