Yep, this hypothesis actually makes a lot of sense imo. If true, then his creditors will have to wait a lot to get some money back, if that happens.

I missed this, but I've not followed the whole pirate goings-around very closely. I guess this is what Matt was thinking when he did this bet. I'd say their is still a reasonable chance pirate will pay up.

Pay up with interest at 7% compounded for three weeks on top of what he owed when pirate shut down BTCST.

If pirate had the coins he would have returned them already. Why wait 3 weeks to pay 22% more bitcoins which is like some crazy number above $ 1 million at this point plus the 500k bitcoins.

Edit: TO put things into perspective. The amount of interest pirate owes since he shut down is much larger than the current amount of bitcoins betting against Matthew.
