I put the card in my everyday (msi 870a-g54) pc and it works. I don't think the asus m/b could handle that much power.. it only had a 4-pin power connection. I dunno. But now neither card works on the asus. Strange. Maybe I fried something.
Do you have the latest Mobo BIOS?
Might want to just RMA the card... maybe you can get an advanced ship option that allows you to get the replacement up front.

Asus M3N72-D Specs
It has 2 pcie(1.0) slots, that when in tandem, run at x8. But that's not the problem.
I have a working XFX 6870 that works in either slot. The Sapp doesn't work at all, in either slot. It is powered, the fan spins, the PC posts with 1 beep, but I get no output. The card has 2 DVI outputs, and neither one puts out.
When I put the 6870 back in, (in either slot config) it works but the Sapp doesn't. Windows 7x64 doesn't even recognize that there is a second card present.
I don't know what to do next.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm losing mining time.
