Ever since installing Catalyst 11.7 on about 10 of my mining rigs, only some of them will randomly lock up and/or BSOD. Is anyone else having these issues?

Ever since I updated to 11.7 on Win7 32bit, it seems the cards cannot stay stable at the same overclock speeds, the miner is restarting pretty often (seldom get to 1000 shares before restart). Currently trying to find a setting that doesn't restart the miners that much.

I tried Trixx (3x Sapphire 5850 Xtreme) and it would only adjust the clocks on the first card.  I have 'Synchronize cards in Multi-GPU Config' checked in the settings.  I am currently using dummy plugs on Win7 x64.. Are you running Crossfire?

MSI Afterburner works though.. I'm in the process of installing 11.7 now so maybe something will change..

in trixx there is a drop down menu where you select your different cards

You need to make sure you are using version 4.0.2.  This version lets you select between different gpus.

I am running Trixx 4.0.2.

In Trixx settings, I have nothing checked except disable ULPS. Also I don't use crossfire bridge.

Wow!  That did it.  I am used to MSI Afterburner where the set all the cards the same option works so I assumed I could use it in Trixx as well. After unchecking 'Synchronize cards in Multi-GPU Config' I can now overclock each card individually with no dummy plugs installed.

I'm using catalyst 11.7 release version and I took off all my dummy plugs. I don't need any dummy plugs to OC either. I use sapphire trixx to OC all my cards. I verify my OC with hwinfo64.

Hey everyone,

So i installed the new catalyst drivers the 11.7 and im still using the dummy plugs on my cards , even though i realized it works without them. However, im running into issues with over clocking the 2nd card. Normally when you have the dummy plugs, it would say Desktop 1 and Desktop 2 under the performance tab but, ever since i installed the drivers... i cant get it to let me overclock my 2nd card. What am i doing wrong? Anyone else have these issues? My cards are XFX 6970's.

it seems that some kind of connection is needed to OC, then afterwards, you can unplug... I'm still experimenting to nail this down...

Yes that's correct.Just use the plug to oc,then unplug.

Thanks for verifying!!  it will save me a bit of time Smiley

Isn't this how things used to work though?  On windows you would either use dummy plugs or do some monitor switching dance to get all your cards to work.  So the big change with 11.7 is that you can run without dummys unless you want to overclock?
