not much use on linux but have you installed the 12.8 or 13.1 drivers for the cards?

5970s have 2 gpu cores per card so its a dual GPU

ATI sees each core as a separate card so 2 dual cards means 4 cores

Ow yes, so stupid of me! Can you explain the error from cgminer too?

So this is the deal.

I have 2 5970's in my rig.
However, aticonfig --lsa shows 4
This is causing my cgminer not to start.

Edit, this is for scrypt mining LTC

Anyone knows how to fix this?
