An AT&T customer filed a lawsuit against the company because of failing to provide necessary security to prevent unauthorized access to its customer wireless accounts. As a result, a cryptocurrency theft has happened in the plaintiff's crypto exchange account. The plaintiff claims that he is a victim of SIM swap scam. And AT&T is already familiar with this kind of scam. Because another crypto investor named Michael Terpin had the same scam in a bigger case last year.

For people who don't know what SIM swap scam is: SIM swap scam is a type of account takeover that targets a weakness in 2FA authentication and two-step verification.

According to the data, the plaintiff lost around 159.8 ETH so far. He wants to take his assets back of course and I wonder what AT&T will be able to do about it. If this person doesn't get his incredible amount of ETH back, this can tarnish AT&T's reputation a little bit.
