I am not too sure, there is a passphrase on the back of the cert. of authenticity card and something under the hologram as well.

Ahh, so there is an encrypted private key under the hologram, that can be decrypted with the passphrase on the authenticity certificate.

Didn't the they come unfunded? I know I have a few bhcoins but I don't remember if they were funded or not. 
It's been so long I can't remember if they shipped funded! However, I checked the address and it currently is.
