I see the patinated coin at 179 € and the silver at 129 €. Does this coin cost that much more to produce? There's also the limited number of these new coins.

In my opinion a price between the two above may attract more buyers.

The original site prices for the patinated & regular silver were 149 € & 99 € respectively. We raised prices a bit since we only have a few left each. They are running out. 250x were produced of regular silver and only 100x patinated.

The golden silver coins are even more limited than the patinated coins (90x) and they actually cost a lot more to produce. The cost to produce the regular & patinated edition coins is actually fairly similar, but the golden version costs 3x to produce (not taking into account the silver value, which is identical of course, but on top of the silver value it's 3x for the golden coins). But that is not the main reason for a bigger price, main reason is they are more scarce and also very high quality & good looking.

Thanks for the explainer, will think about it when I see the price on the site.

So I guess the remaining 80 coins will be available on the website soon? Any ETA?

The coins will be up at Denarium.com as soon as we have assembled enough for quick shipping. Current estimate is within 2 weeks. That will be announced properly when it's time.

My estimate for the website price is 199,90 € per coin but this is not locked in yet.

I know I'm toward the bottom of the list but it's been nearly 48 hours so I just wanted to make sure everything was alright so I can go back to patiently waiting in line.  Grin

It's all good. This usually takes a couple of days if some people are slow to answer. Also I can be slow as well especially if it's weekend.

I'd like to clarify the rules about multiple bids. If you make multiple bids and only some of them can actually win coins, I will automatically count the ones that can win coins. To be precise, all the bids will be added to the list, but if the higher ones knock out the lower ones, only the higher ones stay.

Previously I discarded some bids entirely since I was confused about that and wanted to figure it out but now it seems clear to me that in this situation some bids can be valid but another can be invalid. I will not tolerate doing this on purpose though and may discard bids that seem like abuse and purposeful way to add confusion at the end stages.

Note that this rule clarification has no relevance if you make multiple bids and all of them can win coins, like jyrkka's bids.

Bid not accepted. You can't bid both. If I mark 2 @ 0.19 for you, then your 0.18 bids can't possibly win any coins. So I can put you up as EITHER 2 @ 0.18 OR 2 @ 0.19, not both!

As there is no ruling on which bid to accept in a situation like this, I just need you to rebid with bids that can be included 100%.

Not here to start anything but with all of the recent developments with coin creaters, you cant help but wonder as a potential buyer.  Its not far fetched that people will join just to bid, but since this forum is one of the main forums used for physical coin buying/selling/etc why don't you guys use it more?

Can't really speak for them, but my speculation is that many are not looking to sell the coins in the short term but much later, and may actually use the forum later for selling (which makes sense, since there are a lot of potential buyers here). Also not everyone is interested in collecting all the different coins out there, perhaps just interested in specific coins.

Actually at least one guy whom I know IRL that won a coin from a previous auction asked recently about selling. But he is a newbie user here and has little know-how on how to conduct an efficient auction or sell thread to get a good price. Trying to help him with that somehow. Anyways I think that many of these users will eventually come back one way or another when they feel like selling those coins. There are few places anywhere that are better for selling the coins, if any.

Oh ok sorry haha. So they'll come with a separate hologram if we choose to order them not loaded so we can load them ourselves in the future, and the "special packaging" can be opened with ruining it's integrity to apply the hologram at a later point? Sorry for the confusion, not your fault.

It won't affect the hologram regardless of them being "loaded" or "empty". In each case the coin will have the hologram & private key assembled, as always. The coin can be loaded with more bitcoins easily by using the QR code in the packaging, in either case. The packaging does not need to be opened at all, unless you want to unlock the private key and start spending the bitcoins in the coin wallet.

I guess it's really showing that it's very late where I live and I'm not using my head, of course there is the QR code on the front so there is no need to open it to load the coin, haha.

How much will these go for after the auction ends and they're for sale on your website? Or is that not known yet? I only ask because I don't have the cash to bid for the auction at this moment but I'd love to own one.

Also if we buy it empty do we get shipped with it a hologram to be able to load it later so the coin will be as if it were shipped with a loaded BTC on it? Thanks!

The store price hasn't been finalized yet, the auction outcome affects it somewhat. What I can say for sure is that it will be more expensive than the regular silver coin & the patinated edition.

Thank's for the quick reply. And by the coins coming "not pre-assembled" I'm assuming that means the hologram sticker will be included for us to load at a later point in time if we choose not to order it loaded, and the "special packaging" as shown in the picture can be disassembled without ruining the integrity to load said coin?

Sorry about the confusion here. The coins will come assembled with the hologram just like they always do. What I meant with them not being "pre-assembled" is that we have not YET assembled them. They will be assembled this week & next week. It means that if we have a problem in assembly the serials might change from the original A150-A159 and buyers must be aware of that. Unlikely to happen though.

Oh let me just drop this here for mr techno scammer... Cheesy

http://pastebin.com/eLmjPL6e

That's bullshit. I will explain what this is about.

- Our company (Prasos) has over 35000 exchange customers, mostly from Finland. Most of them do not use Bitcointalk or have never used it.

- We market these auctions heavily outside Bitcointalk to get people outside the forum to join the bidding.

- These users need to register new accounts simply to bid. Many of those people are not interested in the forum otherwise.

That's simply it. Some people in Bitcointalk have this idea that the Bitcoin community at large revolves around Bitcointalk. That may have been the case from 2009 to 2011 but it certainly is not the case nowadays.

I invite theymos to check the IP's and use profiles or anything related to my account and these accounts and see if there is "suspicious" stuff there. Be my guest.

I'd actually love to bid on some of these auctions but I'm not doing it since that would not be appropriate. I have not done that once and I challenge anyone to provide ACTUAL PROOF. That is not going to be possible.

So most bids above are invalid. Technomage can confirm I only checked the rules in the OP.

Affordable Physical Bitcoins - Denarium.com
If there are any trusted people in the US who are ordering coins from you, or happen to win the auction, would you be willing to combine shipping to make it cheaper?

This has been done before and can certainly be done again. Bidders must organize the group order by themselves and then when it is time to give me a shipping address, it should be mentioned that it is part of the group order going to . So it's certainly doable.

Is the numbering a continuation from a prior series?  Curious why these start at #A150.

The last auction coin were the brass prototype coins which ended at A145. We decided to skip a couple of serials and start at an even number of 150. This is the standard method we've used for all auctioned coin batches.

Affordable Physical Bitcoins - Denarium.com
Description: Auction for 10x Denarium Limited Edition 1 BTC Silver Coin with a Gold Finish
Starting bid: 0.1 BTC
End date and time: Thursday 5th of January at 20:00 UTC and when there have been no new bids in *3 minutes*
Payment methods accepted: Bitcoin
Additional information: Read below

This is our latest and greatest coin, a beautiful 2016 Limited Edition 1 BTC Denarium Silver Coin with a Gold Finish. The weight of the coin is 1oz and it is .999 silver with a gold finish. We are auctioning the first 10 coins from this limited edition series. The total batch is 90 coins and the rest (80) will be on sale at Denarium.com when the auctions are finished.

The coins in this auction are *not* pre-assembled due to the fact that we just received the first finished coins from our partner.  We wanted to launch this coin in the year 2016 so this is why we are launching the auction today. The serial numbers reserved for the coins in this auction are A150, A151, A152, A153, A154, A155, A156, A157, A158, A159.

Importantly, all buyers must understand that there is the possibility of a hologram failure at assembly which could lead to a slight change in the serial numbers. Likelihood of this is not very high these days as our production process has improved significantly.

Picture of the coin

Quality of the coin

The coins have a special gold finish which makes them look unique and valuable. The surface quality of the coin is excellent and everyone in our team agrees that this is the most beautiful coin we have produced to date.

Packaging of the coin

Each coin will be shipped in this special packaging.

General information

You are ONLY bidding for the coin itself, not the bitcoin value inside the coin. If you win a coin, you can choose to buy it loaded which will add 1 BTC to the auction price. Or you can choose to buy it empty. To the US we can only sell coins that are not loaded by us. The "empty" coins can easily be loaded with bitcoin value by the customer himself/herself, however.

Shipping cost

Europe: Free of charge
Outside Europe: 20 € extra cost in addition to the bid price

Serial numbers

All the coins have special auction serials (A). The serials reserved for the coins in this auction are A150, A151, A152, A153, A154, A155, A156, A157, A158, A159. These are very special since all the coins sold at the website will have either L (loaded) or E (empty) serials.

The winners of the auction can (in succession starting from the highest bidder) choose which serial they want. It can be the lowest available but also one of the others.

Importantly, all buyers must understand that there is the possibility of a hologram failure at assembly which could lead to a slight change in the serial numbers. Likelihood of this is not very high these days as our production process has improved significantly.

Shipping date

The coins will be shipped in January 2017.

How to bid

You can bid for any amount of coins from 1 coin to 10 coins. The bidding format is "Nickname 2 @ 0.5" which means "I'm bidding for 2 coins, 0.5 bitcoins each". If you want to bid for one coin only, post "Nickname 1 @ 0.5". If for all of them, post "Nickname 20 @ 0.5". The auction is conducted by using 2 decimals only. So you can bid "2 @ 0.51" but DO NOT bid "2 @ 0.511".

So if I were bidding for 2 coins and 0.5 BTC each, I would post "Technomage 2 @ 0.5". If you forget to add your nickname, the bid will not count. So don't forget. It is much easier for us to record the bids when the nickname is also posted.

Each winner will pay exactly the amount that they bid. Meaning that if the highest bidder bid 1 bitcoin and the lowest winning bidder bid 0.4 bitcoin, then the highest bidder will pay 1 bitcoin for his coin and the lowest winning bidder will pay 0.4 bitcoin for his.

Auction rules

- When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled. You can put multiple bids in one post, however.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.01.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will be first in line to win a coin.
- Bids are considered invalid and will be ignored if they do not specify the nickname of the bidder, the price of the bid and the amount of coins the bidder is bidding for, or if they could not possibly win any slots.
- Winning bidders must inform me within 24 hours after the end of the auction which serial number they are choosing and which country the coin will be shipped to. Then the winner has another 24 hours to pay the full auction price.

If these rules are confusing, please ask in the thread and I will answer.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. If bids are rejected for any reason, the next bids in line that didn't win originally, will come into play and will have a chance to buy a coin.

Important: Auction payments should ONLY be paid through this BitPay Checkout page: https://bitpay.com/m/750380/checkout. Do not, under any circumstances, make payment to a Bitcoin address sent by PM.

Good luck!
