curious as to why this was transferred after someone had put a bid in on the original auction - noting it was higher then the current high bid here.

I guess more curious why they have not bid here on this one.

I love it when people are curious about me. Smiley thanks for the love haha

Thank you my friend. This coin has been on my bucket list for a while.

My metals team at space X will be able to make it look much nicer! Lol

If you actually end up cleaning it up please post a before and after photo

21m isn't an elastic supply.

Correct, that's why I'm INelastic supply. Supply is not elastic.

Wow this is a great deal it seems! The coin has a bit of a patina, but honestly for the small premium I think they are geting way more than what they are paying for here for .05BTC more than face value! What was the mintage on these? I will have to check the book....

Casaciustracker says: active 851, redeemed 89, total 940

Yeah, if the bid came in 3 days before this auction started, the coin would've already been with MinerJones; I thought I'd deleted the original thread after my conversation with MJ, there, but it seems like I did something wrong during that process since, if a bid came in there, it has to have been after I'd tried (and failed, apparently) to take the other thread down.  I'll take full responsibility for that and happily chalk it up to "I don't know what's going on, here".  Frankly, if that's the most embarrassing thing I do here, I'll take that as a W.

Meh, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. I can probably find it in the archive tomorrow when I'm less drunk. Grin

I must've biffed deleting the original thread.  Unironically, there's a realistic chance I just misclicked a button: this UI is actively hostile to use on a phone. 😬

There was a bid for .6 on your other thread, and 3 days later a new auction started here. I think that is the question.

I won a ungraded one on Oct. 2020 and BTC was around 11500 at the time. Yeah, that should be
neater than this coin. The bad-looking boy might be cast off absent mindedly by a layman deep at a corner of a drawer for a very long time.

After looking at the word file on my computer, I've found out
that I was wrong. In fact, it's a ICG 68 graded coin.

What a change of market mood! 3 years ago, I won a similar coin: a Series 3 Cas silver 0.5 for 0.705 btc on an auction here.

Bidding will pick up. Also was the coin you purchased as dirty as this silver is? Did you purchase an ungraded or a graded coin? Exchange rate of Bitcoin at the time of purchase? Many variables at play....

Best,
BTCOVERFIAT

Agreed. Premiums vary wildly based on many factors. I expect this coin will fetch far less than an ungraded one in better condition. A silver .5 that is graded high would for sell for even more.

I will sound stupid, but does the coin have the private key engraved upon it or somewhere else?

The private key is underneath the hologram, printed on a small circle of paper

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
I didn't want to clean it and risk damaging the information ok? Sad

Never ever clean a coin.... as found thru a search engine as follows.... Collectible or valuable coins should not be cleaned as cleaning almost always reduces their value and rarely improves their grading.

This coin has a lot of character
 Smiley

Such as...

I think that was a nice way of saying it looks more like a 4X4 that's been driven off-road than a Mall Crawler...if I understand rsincognito correctly.
