Winning bid, PM incoming!

Excellent! Rather looking forward to getting this one! I love curios and the unusual and this certainly fits that bill. That it's a bit rare too is a double bonus.

Thanks for the auction

You're welcome - I've never seen one come up for auction so this may be a first!  It was a prized piece of my collection and I'm sure you'll like it.  Smiley

Do a search for spy coins and you will come up with several shops that take silver, half dollars etc and convert them into hollow stashes for MicroSD cards. The ColdCoin is probably the most attractive I have seen, more should have been produced. It would be cool if someone like SilverWallets produced this type of stash coin again.

I've read about these and wondered whatever happened to them.

Thanks everyone, I believe the maker closed shop because they weren't profitable with the avenues they took.  The mintage of the series stated 100, but I highly doubt 100 of these made it into peoples hands as I couldn't even buy a second one (website closed, ebay items de-listed) and I received coin #31.

This is the only one of these coins I have.   Smiley

Up for auction is a very rare ColdCoin Physical Bitcoin that comes apart and can store a key combo / micro SD card hidden inside.  Few of these ever made it into users hands and they were a really unique design.  It's brand new and was opened once to make sure the item wasn't seized.  This youtube video shows how it works with the provided tool - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHPVztTqg2E

Have fun and happy bidding!    Smiley
