Yes, I have the coin set, and you should all know that I did pay more for this set than the auction dictated I should. It is the shadiest deal I've ever been part of. Even the shipping promised wasn't used, I was told he'd ship Fed Ex, but it was shipped USPS with signature. I was sold a pack of lies right out of the gate....unfortunate that we have members like that in here. I was going to leave neutral but think I should leave negative now. Nice to know I'm not crazy for thinking all of the same things you've all mentioned.

OP has been online multiple times since and hasn't replied here. I think it's probably reasonable to suggest that this didn't go through as why wouldn't he post here to clarify? I could be speculating but that's what it seems like from an outsider's perspective.

I hope a verdict was reached.  I sold my set to FattCatt and they were very easy to work with.  Actually spoke to them on the phone for 30 minutes or so.  I used TMAN for the escrow and all went great.  But i agree, somebody who recently made a account and then bid on this is kinda sketchy.  In my opinion.

Shill bidding in auctions is a major no no. H
So then by that logic, no one should deal with TMAN than correct? Because
 (quote from OGnasty)
"TMAN used minerjones to anonymously auction a KIALARA and then attempted to manipulate the auction by stating, "wow this has to be a record low for a sub #100 serial. if I didn't have so many I would be snapping this up"

Admission it was his auction:

Making posts about an auction != shill bidding. The correct phrasing of what TMAN did in that auction is "hyping his own auction hosted by MJ" and not "shill bidding". That quote from OgNasty is an excuse for a neg. rating, which I do not believe is warranted and I do not agree with it (not enough to counter it as that opens more issues than it solves).

I will watch to see how this resolves. That account is 99% a shill.

Nice to know where you stand on someone using a 3rd party to list an auction so they can manipulate the auction price and dupe unsuspecting bidders out of more of their hard earned BTC.

I'm also fascinated by your accusation that this user is a shill account.  You have hard evidence supporting your claim, right?  When making an accusation, good reputation is not a substitute for evidence.

Killyou, you dig your own holes....i can say with certainty that 99/100 people would say you shouldnt change the auction rules during the auction.  You are the 1 out of 100.

and unless OP stated he would not use an alt account to bid up the auction than he is free to do so

Just because 99% of you all here follow "respectable" auction rules doesn't mean that anyone HAS too.

Oh my.

Shill bidding in auctions is a major no no. He may be "free to do so", but people who do such things should be negged to hell. I am NOT saying that the seller has done this, so lets make that clear - I am simply stating that bidding in your own auction is essentially fraud - and if you do it and get caught, don't expect any respectable user to ever deal with you again.

I agree.

just because you are spending so much time in OG's crotch doesn't give you the right to go bringing me into these things. I did not and would not bid in an auction of my own, the fact I hyped it is the same as any cas owner hyping a cas coin auction..

you on the other hand suffer from all 7 major kinds of retardation and are a blight on this sub forum...

Not really, the reason why you didn't bid on it than would be because you owned it, not because of its low price.

Last time I checked its not "fourm" rules, that when an auction ends, it ends, unless otherwise stated an auction is just a tool used to negotiate price.
It's common sense to stick to rules set in an auction OP.

and unless OP stated he would not use an alt account to bid up the auction than he is free to do so
Shill bidding is frowned upon and reason why people have received negative trust in the past.
Sure they are free to do so, and others are free to leave them negative trust as a result.

Just because 99% of you all here follow "respectable" auction rules doesn't mean that anyone HAS too.
Like you, right?
Are you arguing for changing auction terms and shill bidding because you make frequent use of both?

@OP:
fair is to honor your rules.

You are spreading false information by saying I use shill bidding on my auctions because if you look at any/all of my auctions every bid has been from reputable/well known members

Could you give an example of 2 auctions of mine where I changed the terms of them? No you cannot because its only ever happened with 1 auction I have had.

That's some sketchy stuff.  Seems like a shill bidding situation to me.  I guess if Fattcatt is OK with the price being artificially driven up on him, then that's his decision to make.  I wouldn't pay it personally.

You can't change the rules stated in the OP unless there was a disclaimer of sorts.
Asking for the higher post auction close price is just greedy and wrong especially considering the fact that the previous bids shouldn't have stood or been accepted since they came from a noob account which was created hours before the auction ended and which has never made other posts on the forum before.
Despite the fact that it looks like shill bidding it also looks unprofiessional and just morally wrong.

Auction ended. I'll take 1.55 to be fair, winner is Fattcatt. Please message me and CC the escrow provider with the info.

Doesn't quite work that way dude. The auction was won @ 1.51 BTC, that is the price Fattcatt should pay, and nothing more - plus shipping costs if applicable.

also a newbie just made an account 2 hours before end to bid it up seems kinda fishy

You DONT change auction rules mid auction.  Never....never.  i dont care what bitcointalk says you can and cant do.  My god

If you want to negotiate a price put it up for sale...why even state terms of an auction then....hmmm maybe so people know the rules of your auction

If the eBay prices are anything to go by (although they usually aren't) then this is being snatched up at a knockout price. I don't know why they're priced so highly on eBay but it seems like even the LTC singles are selling for a few hundred dollars a piece.

Watching this auction as I have recently let my set go.  These are very gorgeous sets and I've never seen another one go up for auction.  I was fortunate enough to have somebody take mine off my hands and continue to keep.  Now if LTC will just shoot up to $100 everyone will be happy.   Smiley
