so is this a scam or not? how many are still available?

You can have my share if you pay me for it.

Your answer would suggest that this indeed is a scam Smiley

So far.  But people are insisting he's just "busy".

everytime i see auctions like this it becomes more and more obvious that we need a sticky thread on auctions board with some rules roughly handling the process of an auction.

One of the rules should be that you have to actually transfer the shares.

Against my better judgement about someone who refuses to accept escrow, I sent the payment for my one lousy share.  Put it on burnside's address to go to my btct.co account.

Gee why would I be bitter?  Because I won [email protected] = 48.2000002, could sell them right now on btct.co for 2.8 each which is 56.  Not like his incompetence cost me 7+ btc.

I will send coins immediately after I can escrow. It's not fair if Punin delays answering me then wants instant payment

Doesn't surprise me.  Would he refuse JohnK too?  I think he just wants to pull it back because he realizes he left a shit ton of money on the table.

No I believe Punin is fair. I think you're just bitter Smiley

Bigblitz has agreed to escrow. Punin is this acceptable?

He could have made the friggen clock the correct time!!!!  IT'S NOT THAT HARD you change two numbers!  And if everybody else was SMART they would have only raised a satoshi and we would all be walking out of here with 2 and change ASICMiner shares.

It's only common practice if people put it in the rules in the first post.  Apparently you didn't put any rules so that you could do whatever the hell you wanted and screw me over.  Let me know if JWest fails to pay so maybe I can actually get something of value out of this shitshow.
Ÿour satoshi-rises made it a shitshow in the first place.

THAT'S WHY YOU PUT RULES IN THE FIRST POST.  I don't know why anybody raised the bid by more than a satoshi, you didn't tell them they had to.

And you really believe that an url HIDDEN behind an ANIMATED IMAGE from ANOTHER WEBSITE is a rule, and a clearly typed message saying 'Auction ends in 24h.' isn't? Tongue

Because (i) they understand the fact that it would imply everybody has to stand in front of the thread and post messages after messages for ever, increasing by a satoshi each time, and (ii) they have the decence towards other bidders not to trigger such a stupid and time wasting situation.

You, on the other hand, you (i) failed, and (ii) you failed.

Even more: then you scream all around, and you waste the time of all the persons who answer you politely while you don't even deserve it.

It's common practice to let bidding continue until there are 5 minutes with no bids. Besides, August 24, 2013, 08:09:55 PM was the time I posted the auction.

I take it I won't be getting the 20 that I rightfully won in this auction?

Not that it is any of my business, but I want to chime in and say that I think forum time is what is binding.

"24 hours" is not an interpretive thing, it is exact. The only exact way to measure it is the timestamp.

Then his clock URL should have been: https://www.onnit.com/emails/_modules/timer/?end=2013-08-25+20:04:55UTC&dark=1

It's not rocket science.  I stopped bidding because the auction was over.  So I get screwed because people bid after it was over?  Awesome.

"Pretty much exactly the same" isn't sufficient. At the end of auctions, seconds (even a single one), can make the difference between a valid and an invalid bidding. Then you just look at the time of the posts and there is no ambiguity. You don't "put windows side by side", keeping pushing f5...

Anyway I just wanted to explain the reasoning as to why the clock is just an indication. I'll leave more discussion on the topic to the OP.

It's within a second.  That is sufficient.  In this auction, there was a post 59 seconds and 8 minutes after, are you saying that's close?  Give me a break.

It cannot be the clock, as there would be no way to check afterwards which posts are before/after it finishes.

What are you talking about?  The URL is https://www.onnit.com/emails/_modules/timer/?end=2013-08-25+20:00:00UTC&dark=1.  It ended at 20:00:00 UTC.

That is the time on this "onnit" server. How would you relate it with the time here, on the forum?

The time is in the upper right of the forum here.  You can open the windows side by side and see they are pretty much exactly the same.

I'm pretty sure the clock ended at 8:00 auction time directly after Andy's bid

The clock isn't binding, i've seen lot's of auctions on this forum where that clock image and forum times differ several minutes..

I think it is pretty clear that forum times counts.

Punin starts an auction on: August 24, 2013, 08:09:55 PM (~10 minutes after 8:00 PM)
and writes: Auction ends in 24h. Bidding starts at 2BTC.

Or maybe it's the 24 hours that are approximate and the clock is binding.  That's why most people list a bunch of rules for their auction.  I knew this would be a clusterbleep.
