Historical Background
Franz Beckenbauer, now a internationally known soccer official, started his professional career as a player in the year 1964 at Bayern Munich as a player. He played in three FIFA Worldcups and two European Championships, winning both in the years 1972 and 1974. He was twice named "European Footballer of the Year". The Collector's token offered here depicts him in his early twenties, still before the height of his career as a player. The tokens were issued in Germany to promote the gas station service under the Shell brand. Unique collectible that is rarely offered internationally.
