This seems like lofty goal. I thinks that replacing any standard monetary system is very difficult to do. Just remember how hard Euro had to work to get widespread use.

Another attempted knock of on bitcoin I assume? It is good to see people warming up to the idea of spending and using a digital currency.

I very much doubt this will happen, although i will research it now until this article i had never even heard of Ausbit and they say it may take over the Australian dollar within 10 years.

gotta love this quote;

“In 10 years’ time there won’t be any paper cash. The big question is what’s going to replace it in Australia? Will it be Bitcoin? I don’t think so. More likely it will be ‘AusBit’[…].”

If that happens it would be just another attempts to create bitcoin clone, and it would be a bad one. If every country creates their coin, it doesnt make sence, it would be like it is today, it would be centraly controled, manipulated and just bad.
Bitcoin idea was created on thought of freedom and being beyond borders and countries, same for everyone, and it doesnt surprise me that people want to copy it, but that just prooves that they missed the general idea.

cheers
