It's still possible! You can pay BPAY bills with bitcoin in Australia at LRoS. Any BPAY bill will work.

A great way to support the bitcoin economy!

does the lower exchange compensate your fee's? or do you apply fee's on top of the shown exchange rate on your site?

current market price 1btc = is around $8, your exchnage rate 1btc = $7.32, which is very good if no extra fee's are included, otherwise what are your fee's?

Lower exchange rate (aud) compensates my fees. There are no added fees.

all of the exchange rates were spelled out to you BEFORE you paid, so I do wish you would have brought it up privately before paying Smiley.

sorry i was like a woman in a shoe store at that point, too excited to look at the price, just happy to be able to pay bills with bitcoin, then noticed the usd/aud rate a bit later.

anyway, will PM you, thanks Cheesy

and i hope aussie miners get on board now and pay their electricity bills through your page.

BTC 4.56 sent. Cheers!

thanks, you're a legend. just put in a new godaddy order by the way Smiley keep up the good work.

Sweet! I can pay my huge electricity bills with the very thing that makes them so huge. I like the circularity there.

hi jeremy,

as you may remember, a week or so ago I got you to pay a couple of BPAY payments for me (possibly what started this idea).

while i was more than happy about the 'reduced' bitcoin rate, where i felt a bit jipped was in the USD/AUD rate, which you converted at 1.11 at a time when the going mid-rate on xe.com was 1.06.

i think you should either have a 'bad' bitcon/usd rate or a 'bad' usd/aud rate, but not both.

my thoughts.

edit: forget all of the above, i should have clicked your new link before i blurted all that out... i see you give a fixed bitcoin/AUD rate now as part of the deal so at least we can compare it to tradehill's AUD market for example.

thanks!

Smiley no problem. I appreciate the critique (although all of the exchange rates were spelled out to you BEFORE you paid, so I do wish you would have brought it up privately before paying Smiley.

Allow me to explain the exchange rate you received vs the new bpay exchange rate: The exchange rate you received was on the "buy anything" page, which automatically converts anything other than USD  using the RETAIL rate  (not the bank-to-bank rate you quoted) as that is what I have to pay to convert. As the Aussie bpay page only deals in AUD and I can use AUD without converting, it uses the bank-to-bank rate before adding the fee I would normally receive from affiliates.

If you PM me a bitcoin refund address I'll gladly refund what the difference would have been just as a thank you for giving me this idea. I'll also see if I can figure out the coding to make AUD the bank-to-bank rate on the buy anything page.

Thanks again for a great idea!
