‘Future of Money’ Poll: 1 in 3 Australians Would Ditch Bank for Bitcoin & Fintech

The digital currency known as bitcoin is only six years old, and many of its critics are already declaring it dead. But such dire predictions miss a far more important point:
No digital currency will soon dislodge the dollar, but bitcoin is much more than a currency. It is a radically new, decentralized system for managing the way societies exchange value. It is, quite simply, one of the most powerful innovations in finance in 500 years.
With bitcoin, the balances held by every user of the monetary system are instead recorded on a widely distributed, publicly displayed ledger that is kept up-to-date by thousands of independently owned, competing computers known as “miners.”

You have beautifully described the Bitcoin. We don't need to defeat anybody. We don't need to dislodge any current currency. Even without such victories, things that can be done with bitcoin technology and blockchain technology are amazing.

Blockchain technology and current financial system can go hand with hand with each other for many more years, and bothe systems can hugely benefit from each other.

This is not a self exclusive game, this is what people are not realizing and this is why people should be excited even more about the blockchain technologies.

Do you agree with how Australians see digital currency?

I don't think that this is possible. Even if Australians are ready for this. There is not to many bitcoins to fulfill the desires of all the peoples around the world. If every nations will have this desire what will happen?

Yes, at the end, Bitcoin will serve as a digital gold. It will be more a store of value. Some other blockchain tokens might serve as a national currencies, why not.

Bitcoin will always have first mover advantage and all currencies out there should compare to bitcoin. Similar situation that we have today with alts.

as long as they will not use their centralized blockchain and they will adopt bitcoin directly, without creating an altcoin, like many other want to do, then it will be fine

but they first need to rise the awareness about bitcoin, because 66% say no about "what is bitcoin" is a big %, and cannot be ignored
Bitcoins are produced and somewhat controlled by miners, also unelected, independent, privately-funded currency producers ,as it protocol and software are openly published any developer around the world can review the code or make their own modified version of the Bitcoin software. Grin Angry Sad
Some Australian cities are ready to run with Bitcoin as their primary, as our article on Tasmania's Launceston revealed. Grin
They are welcoming bitcoin with the phrase “Good Bye Dollars Welcome Bitcoins”. Grin  Smiley

Of course they will create their own coin with it's own revolutionary centralized blockchain.
They just wanted to know if the people will use it, and 1/3 is good enough to start making the change.
