I can offer 110 btc for one, unopened, with JohnK escrow shipped via DHL Express shipping to Texas. I will pay escrow/shipping fees.

120 BTC

purplesquid and lmontrose are the current top bidders.  I am locking this thread and continuing the auction in a new thread for the final two days because I can't seem to edit the original post  Huh  and I want to reflect the updated more generous terms (escrow is now optional).

Batch #3 huh? Praise yourself lucky if you will receive your order this year or before they ship out over half a million chips.
Hell will break lose soon after the chips are shipped. When everybody finished their own DIY avalons/klondike/terrahash etc.

I will take the other unit for 50BTC.
Reserve price is 104BTC.  Barring catastrophe, I think that breaking even is about the worst case outcome of this investment, what with BitSynCom's facility humming away at this point, so I have no reason to part with them at a loss.

Yes.  Thank you for starting the bidding.

I can offer 215 btc for two, unopened, with local pickup 100% payable in person once units are shipped and picked up. I have several people that will pickup within 24 hours and/or I may be out there anyway.
I'm amenable to local pickup but I would need a deposit at the conclusion of the auction (escrowed, whatever) - at least 10%.

One unit still unclaimed folks!  I'm on the road through Sunday but will be able to answer any inquiries once or twice a day.

Also, here is JohnK's Escrow service page. Generally he asks for a 1.5%-2% fee.

Kind Regards,

I sold almost 100 FPGAs using escrow to more than a dozen people on here.

The worst problem I ever encountered was someone who took a day or 2 to acknowledge receipt of their shipment.  I think if you ship a package with signature required and showing the correct weight you can simply include in the terms that an 'empty box' claim has to be supported by video and you will be fine.
Ok, I'm realizing that escrow is highly preferred around here, so I'm updating the terms to say that John K escrow is acceptable.  I assume he takes a cut; that would be paid by the buyer - eg. if he takes a 5% cut, a 120btc bid would end up paying 126btc (120 to me, 6 to John K).

If anyone has a link to his terms, please share!

escrow?
To be honest, I haven't really explored this possibility in detail.  I see the potential for shenanigans that could mislead the holder of the escrow account and lead to an unfair judgment ("Yes I signed for the shipment but there was nothing inside ...").  I would rather establish a personal relationship with the buyer.  I'd be willing to sign a notarized contract if requested.

That said, if you have a link to John K's terms or something else that works for you, I'd be happy to consider it more closely.

Hi,

I'm selling two 85 Gh/s avalon machines.  Reserve price is what I paid for them, ฿104 each.  Estimated shipping costs will be added to the winning bid depending on where you live.

Within 24 hours of receiving them in New York City, I will ship these machines to the top two bidders.  They are most likely to arrive in the first half of July based on Avalon's recent communications and reports in this forum.  Upon payment you will receive my login credentials to the Avalon store and ticket system, so that you can check shipping status at any time.  My name and address are also listed there, and I'm also happy to meet via video chat prior to making the transaction, and provide other personal documentation of your choosing.  These safeguards are in lieu of escrow.  The buyer assumes full liability for manufacturing delays, shipping delays, or shipping damages.

Auction closes on June 25th, 2100 GMT.  I will update the current price with any offers made via PM.
