Truth be told, NEVER EVER use multiple PSU's to power a miner..... Way too easy to damage things, generally the GPIO (data lines) or the hash boards themselves.

IF one insists on using multiple PSU's NEVER connect more than 1 PSU to a single hashboard and NEVER try to parallel them so both feed the same boards. Connected in parallel the PSU's will fight each other because they are NOT made for parallel operation.

Swap the PSU's so they feed different boards. Does the same PSU fault or same board causes the fault with different PSU?

So ill have to disagree with the claim you should never use multiple PSUs to power a miner. As long as they are connected correctly this is not an issue. I ran several thousand Avalon6 units with dual PSUs with no issue.

The second statement should be read and re-read if you are going to try this. Never have more than one PSU running an individual hash board, otherwise they will go up in smoke quite quickly.

Also with the way the Avalons work if one PSU is failing you should still be able to mine with the other board still. It should be pretty easy to tell which PSU is causing the problem.

Last bit of advice, you should not be running ATX PSUs on industrial mining equipment. ATX PSUs are not meant for 24/7 usage at near max capacity. You should be using a server PSU of some sort, they were built to be leaps and bounds more reliable and efficient versus an off the shelf ATX PSU.

yes i agree with you but in the website they also say you can run the avalon using two psu of 650 watts and i did use my two corsair 850w (plugging one psu with one board and the other with the second board) with one avalon and still after couple of minutes it turns off.

You DID read the specs for the A741 right?
Guess not otherwise you would know that the 741 draws 1,100w from the wall. Even at its lowest setting (Vcore -2) it pulls >900W.

Ain't no way in hell a 850W PSU will run it.

Hello i have one avalon 741 brand new sold to me and it comes with corsair rm850x psu, my problem is when i connect the psu to the avalon it runs for like 2 mins then the psu turns off by itself i restart it and it turns off again.
i tried another thing since i have another rm850x so i connect one board with one psu rm850x and the other one with the other psu that i had and it still runs for 2 mins and both of them they shut down so i thought maybe my avalon 741 is the problem so i did use my s9 psu from bitmain and the avalon was running perfectly for 24hrs.
Any advices?

corsair psu rm850x are brand new i tested them on my other rig and they run good no problem.
Thank you
