I have a simple question that  I have come acorss on the forums here and wold like to ask the following to some of the Avalon asic users.

I have seen a number of people saying they are removing some sort of fuse or wire on the unit. Can someone explain this to me why this is done or what its in need for?

jesus he was only asking a question.  take it easy, not everyone is as smart as you.  I hope you never have children.  Actually, I hope you never have sex (with women, at least, I give you permission to have all the gay buttsecks that you want).

This was only an issue on the early Batch 2 Avalons.  I think only the 20 "test shipment" units.

Batch 1 and later Batch 2 do not have the issue.

As a teaser... it was sending too much power to some usb related part, and clipping/removing the fuse prevents power to that USB port.  The port becomes unusable... but the rig is much less likely to catch on fire and start cursing at you and stop hashing (in that order).
