is it even confirmed that batch 2 (or 3) will have tracking numbers?

Smart Batch 3 owners would re-sell their pre-order for truckloads of cash.

They aren't going for that much - their pricing where much higher just a few days after they went out of stock.

Now, with BFL shipping (slowly), ASICMINER delivering units 3/4 days after purchase and preparing a new deployment, plus others players willing to enter the market, the enthusiasm is much lower.

Add to this that there are still batch #1 customers without their units, and that not a single batch #2 customer has received yet a tracking number... And you will understand why the value of batch #3 preorders has diluted. I don't think you will get more than a 20% markup on one of those, and you would sell it to an anxious newbie.

If Avalon suddenly starts to ship batch #2 with tracking numbers and promises shipping of batch #3 very soon... Well, then maybe you could unload your preorder with a 200% or 250% markup.

Certainly does look like it'll be late. I think CoinHoarder is right though, in his estimate. It'll be a bit late not BFL, see-ya-next-year late. I'll guess 2 weeks late on that start of batch 3 shipping. Which will not be a big deal.

Shipping from China isn't exactly the safest or quickest thing. But I have faith in Avalon that they'll get this done in a reasonably efficient way.

I still see BFL as a ways off of getting things done in volume. Don't think they have finished the design of the Jal'p at any sort of final revision level, and I don't have confidence that they will take any less than a month from now to start making product in the numbers they need to ship any more than 1% of their orders a week or so.

All guesswork though.

Are you referring to the SINGLE instance of damage during shipping?  Scared easy?

I agree it seems Batch 3 will be late. How late? I'm not sure... They did invest in quicker production equipment, so I think after they get this up and going then they can deliver Batch 2 and 3 in half the time it took them to deliver Batch 1 (so Batch 2 and 3 delivered in about a month and a half).

I'm guessing BFL will run into their own problems when it comes to mass producing and assembling their ASICs as well. Notice it seems they could only make about 4-5 Jalapenos a day for the past two days. I definitely expect this to increase a lot, but how soon and what quantity I'm not sure there either.

It's anyone's ballgame right now. Avalon or BFL could hit it out of the park.

My money is still on Avalon.. BFL has proven themselves inept.

Given the current delays, I'm predicting the median ship time for batch 3 to be May 22.

Won't that suck if BFL starts shipping out regularly within the next month and kills all batch 3 owners? That's making a big assumption that BFL will actually deliver in volume though.

Regardless, I'd hate to be one of the suckers that bought into BFL.

I'm betting that statement will prove more fitting.
