Just for the record, I just upgraded all (11) of mine per Fanatic26's comment without a problem.

could you let us know if you see any bugs with the April firmware? thanks ccglic

Is there an April firmware? I don't see it on github. Last I see was the March 6th one, am I missing it?

Everything went quickly and cleanly - perhaps 5 minutes of downtime.  So far, no issue.

Yes but the latest stable version is 2018-Mar-06 12:49 MMC and 2018-Mar-05 13:58 for the controller.

I dont understand what this has to do with anything. I just told the OP he can upgrade the MM without fear of damage. I have managed thousands of Avalons and I know for a fact that it is nearly impossible to brick a unit with a successful firmware update.

I apologize, meant no offence to your comment, I also agree that it is nearly impossible to brick a unit when flashing, just stating that the April firmware is in testing at this time.

Do not be afraid of firmware updating your Avalons. Just do it, you wont harm anything.

It means that the miner will stop hashing if it overheats, to protect it from damaging itself.

Thanks but have you upgraded the Avalon 841s MM Firmware to Version 8411803-14b0f10 yet or know anyone who has?

Hi Guys,

Has anyone upgraded the Avalon 841s MM Firmware to Version 8411803-14b0f10 yet?  Any advice/steer would be nice.  The change log talks lists the following fixes:

- Fix the led doesn't display red when the miner too hot
- Update the miner too hot protection
-  Fix the total asic always display 0

I'm more interested in the "miner too hot protection" are there any details on what this means exactly?

Thanks for any input.

nb. fans are maxing out at 100% once temps are low 70s Centigrade and its whinnning like my old 955's piston!
