Georgians also had business ties with Russia when Saakashvili tried to overrun the Republic of South Ossetia.  That didn't help them to prevent a dramatic failure, and now Saakashvili is an internationally wanted criminal who even failed to get a travel VISA from the USA.

Georgia had no crude oil or natural gas deposits. Azerbaijan on the other hand is having very significant deposits of both natural gas as well as crude oil. Russian corporations have invested billions of USD in that country as well. The Azeri lobby is also very powerful in Russia. Many of the high ranking ministers and officials are on their payroll.

Three shells landed on the iranian territory. There were no casualties, deputy provincial governor Saeed Shabistari Khiyabani said. However, due to damage of electricity supply lines, this incident caused a temporary power cuts.

According to Saeed Shabistari Khiyabani, soon after the incident Iranian border guards had a conversation with colleagues from Armenia and Azerbaijan, and they assured them that such incident will not be repeated.

P.S. Conversation, lol Grin

Armenia is a de facto protectorate of Russia, they have signed a sovereignty protection pact with a russian MoD. So, if armenians will experience some serious trouble with azeris, then azeris will quickly find themselves in a very difficult situation. Almost like Saakashvili in 2008, but now with a little adjustment of their little barbaric regime to something less religious and closer to a common sense.

P.S. But I'd say that armenians don't need any help for now.

Armenia may be a de facto protectorate. But the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh is a separate entity. I am not sure whether Russia will directly aid RNK if the Azeri forces try to over-run the republic. Russian-Azeri business ties are quite strong. One major difference now is the hostile nature of relations between Russia and Turkey. RNK could be the next stage for Russia-Turkey proxy war, after Syria.

So, once again they've got their arses kicked... And now they're screaming about ceasefire. Nice. This is a typical template of behaviour for these cowards.

Cowards will always be cowards. Even those who supporting them (Turks) are also cowards. Armenia is a small country, and its economy is just around one-tenth of the size of that in Azerbaijan. The population is very small (around one-fourth of that of Azerbaijan), and they are facing shortages in manpower due to the low birth rates. Despite all these, they have managed to give a proper thrashing to the Azeri motormouths.

Azerbaijan says it is laying down its weapons in its recent conflict with Armenia, according to state media, a day after 30 soldiers from both sides were killed.

"In the light of persistent calls from international organizations and given the fact that the government of Azerbaijan is pursuing a peaceful policy, the Azerbaijani armed forces took a unilateral decision to stop counter-attacks and retaliatory action against the enemy in the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the country's ministry of defense said in a statement, according to Azerbaijan state news agency Azertac.
However, Azerbaijan said it will respond to any continued "provocations" with "offensive operations in order to destroy the enemy."
The announcement comes a day after long-simmering tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan flared again, with at least 18 Armenian and 12 Azerbaijani troops killed in fighting, according to state media reports.
The violence was centered in Nagorno-Karabakh, a region occupied by Armenian forces but surrounded and claimed by Azerbaijan. Where it belongs has been in dispute for years, though it's been relatively rare of late for this discord to erupt in bloodshed.
That's what happened Friday night and Saturday. An Azerbaijani Mi-24 helicopter carrying out airstrikes on Armenian military positions was shot down, and a mine blast damaged a tank, according to Azertac.
The same report said that six Armenian tanks and 15 artillery pieces were destroyed, while over "100 enemy soldiers were killed and injured."
