They do not look the same to me... There are so many orange-colored logos around.

Well it is not same logo but font and colour makes me remember Bitcoin. But it is still great "free advertisement" for bitcoin.

well that is good right? more bitcoin pubblicity, even if it's not the same logo, if they steal the logo of bitcoin in some way they are only making a big favor for bitcoin in general

I think that Babble wants to have more publicity Tongue
By using a similar logo to bitcoin. It's true that bitcoin needs more to be advertised.
But one day others will try to look similar to bitcoin to succeed.

People looking for babble might make a mistake on the logo and instead looked up bitcoin. But never mind even if it happens, I suppose that's free advertising that could help spread bitcoin popularity.

Well it is and it isn't very similar to bitcoin.
Bitcoin does not use a B but a BTC, which is unique only for bitcoin.
There are many other similars because if you want only one letter you are limited to few tens alphabet letters.

Wouldn't say they are even fairly similar if not for the  alphabet they both are using. With the choice of only 26 alphabets and 10 numbers, you can't expect every logo to be hugely different from each other. Would be different if this was the case: http://whatculture.com/offbeat/10-massive-companies-unbelievably-similar-logos.php

There have always been battles over company trademarks whether it's logos, letters of the alphabet, or names. Look at the battle Apple had with the Beetles over the Apple name. Anyone who knows a small amount about Bitcoin won't be fooled by a company that's stolen its logo. On the bright side if there was a high publicity court battle over it the extra publicity could be fantastic for Bitcoin.

Did anyone notice this? That big orange B... Cheesy
Also Paypal has started a campaign on TV that advertises Paypal as "payments of the future" or something along the lines. The advertise it as something new and exciting. It's like Applepay, they want to take the spot for "payments on your smartphone" before Bitcoin does. They are scared of the big B.

True, logo looks very similar. But it can be good for Bitcoin in the end if some people are looking for Babel, get across bitcoin and happen to be interested in it.

As for payments through smartphone, Bitcoin being more global and not attached to a company, will have more chances to overcome competition.
