I have been as bad as you, maybe because your web browser has problems by some extension you use, capcha is needed to fight DDOS and spamer, you can set "Always stay logged in" mode like me

Had to try more than 15 times just to solving the captcha. I was bored indeed. Why do forum require solving that captcha? Terrible experience.

I find that Captchas are more difficult to solve if people have a very bad internet connections. Most of these applications are developed in 1st world countries on very fast internet connections. I also find when I have several downloads running and when the family are all on the internet, then I get a few errors with these Captchas.  Tongue

The Captchas is a necessary evil, because it stops a even greater evil, namely bots. I would much rather deal with these Captchas, than having to deal with the spamming of these bots.  Wink

If registration and logging in won't require captcha, do you think this forum will be bot free atleast? or you want to have discussions with bot accounts posting nonsense? is capcha really a problem to you?
Captcha is required definitely to avoid the bot issue but it is also boring when someone use this forum from TOR. But lately, theymos has brought a solution. It's true that it is still a problem to the people who try to register from tor browser. It took more time than usual.

This method is very good and is suitable for frequent IP replacement. I have collected it.

IP replacement? What did you mean?
That link is for bypassing captcha when you tried to log in.

OP may have not exeggerated his ordeal... If i remember very well. It took me over 15 minutes to get registered through Tor only for me to be shown a banned IP address message.

Well, it's quite understandable. My longest captcha is around 3-4 minutes, so more than that is enough to drive me nuts.

Captchas are horrible UX but they tend to stop generic spam bots. It's frustrating.  Be glad you're not on 4Chan. You have to go through that process each and every time you post.

I experienced choosing the correct captcha which took me a couple of minutes and it kinda made me tired. But after the fix that theymos made, I don't have any issues with right now.
That was indeed a good solution. Thank you but you know the registration process took more than 20 minutes. I never experienced with such registration process. That's why it was a terrible experience for me. Some probably will give up too.
Sorry for the bad experience but you're welcome here in the forum so don't give up.

Wooow, Looks like I wasn't the only one who had a Rough Bitcointalk Welcome
And for the record I was using Tor browser that day.
Spent a good deal of time solving the captchas and when I finally registered and logged in after more captchas.... Guess what?
The goddamn ip I registered with was an evil ip!

Of course i couldn't pay that fee however little it was. I just decided to create another account on a cloudfare friendly browser.

That was indeed a good solution. Thank you but you know the registration process took more than 20 minutes. I never experienced with such registration process. That's why it was a terrible experience for me. Some probably will give up too.

I tried registering an account using Tor browser(which should be bad enough to be able to check the captchas), and saying that it took you 20 minutes might be quite over exaggerated. It definitely took more than a minute to solve the captchas, but definitely very far from 20 minutes. Not sure why it took that long for you assuming you're honest about your estimated duration.

But I personally don't see how a simple task of captcha is stressful and besides you are new so you should not get bored by it at least not yet

There are really times that captcha is not working properly even we did the right answer.  10-20 times ... Changing browsers, good internet connection etc..

It happened to me lots of time and that is totally waste of time. It's boring even for the new ones as you want to proceed but nothing is happening.

Good thing there's now a unique link for every user here to bypass captcha. That's what Im using now for login since then.

I guess every user has different experience with captcha in this forum. I never need to submit captcha more than twice while OP need to do it 15 times. Nothing wrong with OP but if you need to do this simple task 15 times then it is really frustating,

Captcha may be not good when accessing bitcointalk but it helps to prevent the creation of bots. As far as I remember, the bitcointalk forum had problems with bots before with the same post, same activity and the same company. More information about bot can be found here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/large-list-of-bot-accounts-5045932 which is why there is a captcha.

The user already registered successfully, so I was offered a solution to ensure  him/her do not go through captcha trouble again when logging in on their account. I do not know of any measures for users who are trying to get registered on the forum.

An immediate solution that can help cut down on the number of those bots is there but I don't think Theymos can implement it. Not anytime soon.
making email verification possible as one is registering. Now I know people will say that creating emails is very easy but this can give the bot accounts creators some painful experience and others will give up eventually.
This could go along with periodical suspending of accounts engaged in some sort of suspicious activities or bot spamming. Bots might not have time to check their emails and the numbers will be further slashed down.

If you're using TOR, I don't know how to make your life easier. But since you already registered, you can use link above to bypass captcha

If you're not using TOR, there are few tips which can help to make captcha easier, I can tell from my experience. First - clean Google cache in your browser setting. But it's only short term solution. Thing which worked best for me - log out from your Google account when you need to solve ReCaptcha. And last - you can use incognito window, but it's not very convenient way to use browser.

Very terrible indeed especially for a first timer.
Lemme ask, is there any chance that you are using Tor or one of those private browsers that try to block tracking by google?
This sort of "special punishment" is handed out by Cloudflare to users who try to browser privately using certain browsers.

If you are having reCaptcha issue, you can bypass it using this link. The link would only work for one account.

We understand there is a lot of bot account creation but also this is a pain to a new user as OP stated. The reason why so many bot accounts are so easy to create here is partly due to the lack of email verification feature.

Better having s bit of a difficult time for the registration (only once) than being infested with bots don't you think?
