So next time you will listen when I am saying this is a SCAM miner,,,, BAIKAL NEW that BAIKAL N will not have any ROI but they just sold it by playing stupid that they never read about cryptonight fork....

CONGRATS BAIKAL

BAIKAL why don't you release the frameworks updates for BAIKAL X10 and BAIKAL B for people to make a nice profit of $300/day how you do today ?
Why you mine hidden in 6 Algos ? why ?

The biggest problem with the Cryptonight ASICs is that they are just door stopper. I think you all forgott about the low power consumption. With 60Watts you wont even heat your room in winter. My Antminer D3s are way better heating up room and in elec. coasts just a little bit more expensive and louder then a normal heater.

So if you looking for heater i would prefer the good looking and well designed Bitmain heater instead of Baikal (more power consumption).

Summary:

Baikal
+door stopper
+lowest price
-no heating function

Bitmain
+heater
+door stopper
~medium price

Innosilicon
+ door stopper
+ heater
- highest price
+ cool blue logo

E3 Miner Antminer
+heater
+at least minimal profit (lets wait what the eth devs say tomorrow about a fork?)
+low price

For everyone who buys ASICs is as uninformed as i was when i bought my D3s. Everyone has to learn by paying nothing is for free.
I bought 11 D3s by the way after 2 Months running, 5 hashboards stopped working and 7 with negative profit. Maybe i should have also listened to the 1000 negative ratings on Facebook and Bitcointalk about Bitmain and co.

@Baikal ,please reply to me:

"Dear Baikal: I had buy the first 'Giant-N' for 3600 usd / 1pcs. I think it is too expensive for those who have buy your company's first product ( Giant-N ):03/12/2018.
Why the second order price is only 1900usd / pcs?It is very unfair for the first buyer a few days away. The first customer to take too much risk: 3600usd / 1pcs.
So I lost much money about it. 4pcs ( 3600*4)=14400usd/4pcs.
I want you explain about it,Thanks Baikal.."

Did you learned now to don't invest to SCAM schemes ?

Listen to that: By don't buy BAIKAL miners you earn more by keeping the money in coins ....

When BAIKAL will learn to respect their clients the developers will support them and they will let the algos to them for mining .... by SCAMMING people no DEVELOPER will support them.
They came with a price $3600 for batch 1 and if the Monero was doubling in price then their batch 2 would be $5000 ... do you understand how they are thinking ?
They just want your cash !!!

The DEVELOPER HAS MORE POWER THAN AN ASIC COMPANY THINK ABOUT IT !!!

Just want to see how far it can goes from now on.
Reminder, (almost) all cryptonight based coin will change algo this Friday. It means this ASIC and Bitmain ASIC will *not* work anymore. Be safe guys! ;-)

BAIKAL SCAM
I am not satisfied with Baikal's MoQ and high price policy, But one thing i am sure is that Baikal is NOT SCAM

They always delivered the machines they get payment for.

They will deliver your doorstop don't worry the point is that it will only mine for 2 weeks then it goes to the door work ....
SO I CALL THIS SCAM or you want them to come to steal money directly from your wallet ?
Open your eyes and face it BAIKAL is not like at the past and they get pressure from their competitor
ASIC companies want to make cash and they don't care about their clients face it ....

If that can only run profitably for 2-4 weeks due to the change of PoW, who would buy?

the ones, who don't have knowledge but a lot of money Cheesy

Clueless!
It would make sense at a reasonable $1188,- pricepoint, similar to where their first batch of X10 was released for and in line with the pricing of the X3.
Expecting a price drop soon.

Well...my situation (with fed/soc sec and state tax) a tax bill of 50% ..so 1/2 my mining is going to the tax man (that is high, last year it was 41% but I can't afford
to learn excel, get a bookeeper..keep calling my CPA (that is 2k gone last year with taxes done) etc....so the overage of 9% I can apply to my home biz health insurance
(all can be written off in 2019) if I have extra.....simple/stupid/but works (already set aside this years health insurance monthly payments)

THUS my point:

IF I'm looking at around 50% going to the tax man anyway..plus the concentrated equipment deduction allowed on equipment from 5 years to 1 year....or 25% off on
equipment above as applied to taxes I know I'm gonna pay anyway

my risk is 25% over the 50% above (ballpark) set aside for the tax man etc, etc (in my simple-minded tax plan....hey worked last year...thus this years health insurance paid)

So, I can't see getting this EVEN with the above perk (not at a 10 count)

NOW, with the above, I MIGHT get ONE...but look at my logic above...not a lot of risk getting one in my case

but from the NOISE on how all the coins effected are screaming they are gonna FORK not sure that kite flies either

So, essentially if I did not have to go thru the hassle and say had a couple guys getting these and I could grab ONE maybe (for giggles)

in that, I've had very little success with Baikal and ordering and all that plus the 10 min order

but really, I'm looking at this and for the most part going NAH!

So those not in my mining/equip/revenue situation and paying 75% in real crypto of fiat for a chance at a 25% equipment deduction this year IF YOU PAY TAXES on crypto...

it just looks lame...so to those not kinda caught in the 'damn I need equipment crosshairs" I am (till my scrypt-pow machines become doorstops)

RUN AWAY..is my advice, especially if it is gonna be FORK city and F*ck the ASIC's with these units..unless you are like me and want to play flip a coin..

(so badly need toys, so badly can't justify any) Sad

Bitcoin FTW!
This whole Cryptonight algo ASIC miner battle and miner prices are just crazy, I might stay away from this.

I mean, with only 60W power consumption this Baikal miner would've been a fun gear to have a look at but the price and MOQ doesn't make sense to me.
I’m staying away from anything that’s not BTC and Scrypt ASICS and GPU mining for the time being. Incredibly risky times right now for buying miners of any sort, and it seems Bitmain’s releasing new gear left and right and profitability on those miners drops like a rock after the initial batch. Pricing of miners doesn’t help either.

In all of this mess, there's only one solution. FORK all motherfucking coins to CPU only! Fuck GPU (leave them to gamers) and FUCK ASIC too (I do own asic but now I hate it). They just screw ppl's life! Those big farmers just sat down with those who want tho regulate crypto as they see the it now as a threat to their fatty giant fucking wallets.

let's make the word out and fucking screw them all!

Overreact much ?

Yes there is a need for some more useful and profitable CPU coins no doubt, GPU mining is still relatively ascceaible to most folks interested in mining to various extents so
no reason to lump it in with ASIC miners.

The problem with ASICS is you CANNOT BUY them when they are most profitable to use , Bitmain and baikal use them for themselves for months on end and when they have destroyed any kind of profitability they sell them to us at the tail end.

that is the problem.  EVen if they did offer the asics for sale when they BUILT them , the prices would make buying prohibitive in any case.

Asics are the problem not GPUs

Asics are a cancer to crypto world

BAIKAL SCAM
I am not satisfied with Baikal's MoQ and high price policy, But one thing i am sure is that Baikal is NOT SCAM

They always delivered the machines they get payment for.

you are really fucking retarded...
if somebody would sell you a car he knows it wont drive anymore after two weeks you would call it NOT SCAM?
same doing baikal with this miner

we are not talking here about if they deliver or not, they selling a product they know it will not work in 2 weeks...thats the only reason they sell it, otherwise they would just keep mining and fuck up monero difficulty like they did in the past months

You are retarded and senseless person.

I made two views in my post go READ them and then start barking.

FIRST comment: on which you commented that Baikal delivers what they get paid for. (I didn't said in favor of Giant N)

SECOND comment: Read my previous posts i repeatedly said Giant N is a risky deal because its NOT MULTI ALGO as with all baikal miners.

Now do you remember what i predicated in my previous post that Giant N is not Multi Algo and risks killing competition from Bitmain and here it comes.

"We are proud and happy to announce that we are launching the all-new Antminer X3, a new Antminer model for mining cryptocurrencies based on the hashing algorithm CryptoNight.

The Antminer X3 delivers a minmum hashrate of 220KH/s while consuming 550W of total power.

To prevent hoarding by certain users or resellers and to ensure that more individual miners in different time zones around the world are able to order this new ASIC miner, we have made some changes:

There is a limit of one miner per user for all orders in the current (two) batches.
We will release both these batches with an equal stock thrice today: at 3PM, 6pm and 9PM (15 March, GMT+8)."

So if Baikal mined monero to death in 2 weeks that the monero fork is happening we should see the Vega cards jump back to big profits

Lets see......

Senario 1 :
BAIKAL was mining monero to death and after the fork GPU miners will see big profits and Baikal N will be mine the leftovers

Senario 2 :
BAIKAL just made this miner and GPU miners will not see their profit to increase after monero fork... and that means that GPU miners drove monero there by building rigs non stop. and Baikal N will be mine the leftovers

So monero is trying to save the GPU farms ? or they don't like Baikal ?
BAIKAL N is a home miner , everyone can have it ... so what is wrong ?
Farmers what is wrong ?
I am not supporting BAIKAL ,,,but the farmers should calm down ,,,, lets do fork to bitcoin also to bring it back to GPUs

Like i explained there are multiple factors and Baikal is loosing more business due to imposed MoQs.
Many miners are not ordering from Baikal and just skipping the resellers due to the $700 to $1000 top up of resellers.

Infact keeping in view volatile market the best thing would be that Baikal introduce pricing of $1200 to $2000 range and they can see huge sales.

Clearly investing in this miner is huge risk with this high price tag and MoQ, we could try taking risk if MoQ was removed and price tag becomes reasonable!

Thanks.

Baikal ...does not seem to care, IMHO on the issues of moving these miners...thus the 10 plus limit....they likely have been mining these units themselves for (guess)

3-4 months....so now is the time to dump them to the masses for too much $$$ in preparation for their next ASIC to make and pre-mine....before any release to

the public...rinse/wash/repeat

Anyway, my view by the past ship-shod way Baikal ships and releases stuff and the prices they want..and their lack of any communication from sales...just use

the mining community to dump and move on...(then again why should they be any different then Bitmain....they just don't do it as slick) Sad

Thanks.

I am not supporting BAIKAL ,,,but the farmers should calm down ,,,, lets do fork to bitcoin also to bring it back to GPUs

scenario 1 , gpu s will reclaim some monero profits, although still wont be as profitable as months ago, price has suffered a bit, but what hasnt. Coinhive has prob been ramped up too which wouldnt help. The monero devs prob knew about the baikal n months ago. Good timing.

To me it looks the GPU farmers are pushing this in order to don't lose money ....

Investing in mining is risky enough lately, too many people with cheap or free power and huge wallets. Everyone wants a slice of the pie and fewer good opportunities are available. People who take risks on new miners or pre orders are getting burnt a lot more often. The only winners are the resellers and the pre miners who thrash the profit out of these machines and eventually sell them to the public at a premium. If the monero fork was 6 months away these would be worth it but a few weeks? How do we make ROI on the few coins left that wont fork. These should be 1500$ and less especially after the fork. Least it wont cost much to run. It might be worth waiting. The buyers set the price in the long run.

cryptonight is the worst algo to mine if you think about it, its mined by hackers in hijacks who use other peoples resources which makes it basically free. No mining equipment to buy, no power bills. All you need to do is pay the hackers or they pay themeslves. Once they mine it they are unlikely to hold it, they just dump it cause its all profit.

does look like baikal has already mined monero to death. just a few months ago xmr was right up there with Eth on being the most profitable algo to mine. about 3 months ago cryptonight became much less profitable than ether even though monero was almost keeping up with ether (percent wise).

If all the miners of xmr were gpu miners, then that doesnt make any sense. Because a large portion of miners will switch algos as long as they're not mining shitcoins. as we get close to xmr hard fork, they're dumping miners.

Good machine. This one is a definitely 1 year machine as 6 months to hit ROI another half is profit. I definately agree with @bitcoinexplorer that investing huge amount of cash is crazy and I would definitely go for one machine but MOQ is 6 units which is insane.

We need to perform non-profitable company to unite ppl in to fight those MOQ's at all cost!

What about all this talk about coins this machine can run...forking

seems an uproar in the coins in question and devs and such saying fork!

unsure, if enough of them would do this...but they sure are yelling about it on the threads

anyway, for further reference indeed for those thinking of getting this unit (just in case)

Good luck buying used asic that was in work since december and caused 4x drop in peoples profits. They are ditching it because they already mined what they could and it will be useless after biggest cryptonight coins update pow algo in a few weeks. You will be stuck with this metal box and 100 years roi.

Wow it's great if we use GPU mining rig (6x580) for cryptonight algorithm is only about 6khs with 500++watt. And this is only 1/10 watt from them. Such a big monster here.

So, IF, FPGA...I think they are programmable for other coins without issue...

I would not say totally without issue. There are lot of technical issues. But guys, from the Spartan-6 LX150 and better FPGA you can mine altcoins. I suppose that golden shovels are getting covered with dust in your basements.

Please do not forget to make a pictures of PCB without heatsink and put it here. Or maybe write a technical review of the Baikal's solution for Cryptonight.

The Cryptonight algo is not ASIC resistant, maybe it requires external memory, nothing more.

Thankfully this wont be compatible with Monero real soon thanks to the upcoming anti ASIC algo modification, and subsequent algo mods every 6 months.

Big props to Monero's dev team for keeping the coin decentralized. Makes me happy to know that baikal spent millions developing this and all it'll be able to mine are worthless shit coins.

Yet, Baikal spent millions and will make many millions more in return. Miners, especially newbies, are the ones that always get screwed. Nevertheless, I do like how Monero is handling this, not coming up with surprise defensive moves, but having a well-thought public strategy. If as miners we do our due-diligence to understand what we buy we won't get into traps like this one.

Some people will undoubtedly fall for this door stopper, but I doubt baikal will make their investment back on sales alone. Chances are they've been mining with this behind closed doors long enough to already have paid their investment back, though.

This won't be able to mine Monero after V7 right?. I wonder if the Giant-N is based on FPGAs as the other Baikals, and if it could be updated to V7 in the future. Without Monero this miner is not that interesting.

IF 60 watts is legit, IMHO, it would have to be FPGA based.....ASIC's burn electric....(ASIC: their mother was a space heater..their father was hair dryer) Smiley

SCAM

you sir could very well be correct.....

though their 300mh baikal cube last may 2017..was/is only 75 watts (in my bsmt)

but odds are 70/30 you are correct...or it is just 'puff' for baikal to see if it pays to build such a unit...floated out in the world..which

means all the facts/power will change...if/when they ever really announce and then of course ship in their usual 'kludge' fashion

So any info on price? If this makes about $500-$600 a month (assuming the hashrate won't go too crazy), then I think $2000-3000 seems reasonable.
I understand, but right now the earning estimate you see are without 1000 Giant N ,but when they go live and miners start selling coins bringing coin price down, the revenue could be much less such has $200 or so

And don't forget the precedents set by Bitmain (Releasing DASH & Sia miners making Baikal Obsolete for that), and Halong releasing DCR & Sia miner making DCR obsolete for Giant B

But if no other ASIC is released then i guess its a good miner!

I want to buy but considering below factors:-

It only mine cryptonight and a dangerous precedent was set by Bitmain followed by Halong miner

And we remember what happened with X11 when Bitmain unleashed almost double capacity miner followed by Innosillicon

For buying argument:  I tell myself to buy with hope that Bitmain etc won't launch more powerful miner

For not buying argument:

  • Its only 2 algorithms (effectively one as only AEON is on second algorithm)
  • 20Kh is huge hash rate and currently shown earnings are expected reduce by 50% atleast.
    • It does not support 5 to 7 algorithms like its always with Baikal , take example of Giant B, after mega miner release of Decred by Halong its only gonna profitable to mine coins such as Lbry on Giant B

So if Baikal announce it will add more algorithms in this device then i could consider buying, yet i am confused and not taken a final decision.

    Thanks
Very good points. I really dont like asics that only support one or two projects. I wonder how much it is going to be[/list]
