Few days from now and we will see the effect. Id rather watched it slowly and monitor btc's price. Thus could end up good or bad, but in my opinion, its a good thing cause, many people can participate now without any fear of being scam since there is a protocol and provisions by Bakkt regarding investment here.

Cannot wait to see the new ceiling could be downfall though.

Bakkt launch will support bull run for Bitcoin, currently the futures contract is only for Bitcoin but in the future I think Ethereum and other altcoins might be listed on the Bakkt futures contract.
if Bakkt can work well, then this can support the receipt of the Bitcoin ETF by the SEC

We will have to see, it's been touted as the catalyst for another bull run this year and push the price to at least $16,000 so let's see how everything will turn out. Maybe institutional money with flow to the ecosystem to push the price. Or it will create another hype and fresh blood are going to pump the market who knows. So it's going to be pretty exciting as others said that this is long overdue and they grow tired of waiting while on the other hand, majority are betting that this will create a boost in the price, whether short or long term.

My understanding of Bakkt is that it's going to present big-money players an opportunity to get exposure to crypto without actually having to buy (or own) actual cryptocurrency.  I think it's akin to the paper precious metals market, where traders really don't want to own bars of gold, but rather to speculate on the price.  Basically it's a derivatives market.  I think Bakkt traders have the option to take possession of their crypto, but I'm sure most of them will settle with cash--just like traders in the commodities market do.

I have no idea how this is all going to affect the price of bitcoin or of altcoins, but I'm fairly sure it'll have some sort of effect.  And no, I don't think this is going to be something for the retail market, and it's not going to be used by individual traders unless they have some deep pockets. 

I think it's probably going to appeal to large Wall Street investment firms looking to invest in bitcoin without having to move the market because of huge buy/sell orders.  I think that's the main reason Wall Street hasn't gotten into it yet.  You can't buy $1 billion (or more) worth of bitcoin on the open market and not move the price upward.  That could have all sorts of bad outcomes.  Nor could you sell that amount easily.  But with Bakkt, these guys can trade all the bitcoin derivatives they want and it won't move the market at all (I think).

Well that is one thing with Bakkt, shareholder can either short or long, we do not know what they will do next but one thing is clear, Bakkt can paveway to more adoption of Bitcoin if they become successful.  More people wanting to have a share on this Bakkt mean more demand for Bitcoin.


I think Bakkt had already piled their stash of BTC, so I believe it won't affect the BTC price by its own except the hype spread through and more demand from outside Bakkt investors pile in, then it can bring the price of BTC up.  It can be a possible catalyst for Bitcoin continous price surge.

About altcoin, I do not think BAkkt will affect is price since Bakkt is purely on Bitcoin not on cryptocurrency as a whole.

Why do you think that Wallstreet big investors will speculate on calls? What if they speculate on short?


I think the launch of bakkt want affect bitcoin price so much on launching date... maybe few hundred dollars. The most people expect big moves, thats why i think there will be much action.

If there is minimum investment so it means the Wall Street Big inveators will invest in Bitcoin.

Usually They invest in forex, cfd, equities and its a heavy Money.

Altcoins will get a bull market when BTC is in a bull market. Right now, a lot of people still think we are in a BTC bear market.

There is a minimum deposit, I think. So, this is not like Coinbase at all.
