Topic: Ban Appeal - Banned In Error (I assume) (Read 210 times)

Have to say you are a pretty awesome mod.. I do like it that you admit when you are wrong and immediately try to resolve..

Good to see you will be getting back your account. Whenever I see any ban/lock account thread I feel myself gosh please help this person. I understand mods are really busy however this is a sector they need more attention. Thank you rickbig41, I seen you replying a lot of the account hack/ban posts.

So I'm your normal poster... Chime in every now and then on coin threads I'm following, try not to troll if unwarranted, don't spam or scam people... And yet I found myself banned.

And most importantly, I found myself banned shortly after trying to be a helpful person posting over at the "Plagiarism and copy/paste posts" thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/plagiarism-and-copypaste-posts-2855895).

While visiting the ITNS coin's thread I had expressed a thought in response to what someone said, then weeks later some random person or bot copy/pasted my exact thought onto the same forum (ITNS coin). I take notice of this, post a message pointing it out, then another person on the ITNS forum tells me I should post about the experience over on the "Plagiarism and copy/paste posts" thread since they handle that stuff... So I post there about it, and then I apparently end up being the banned person and the bot I report is all fine and dandy to carry on.

Now if I truly am banned for a reason, and not accidentally banned by mistake... Can I please hear the reason why? Would be pretty swell to hear what I fudged up if this all isn't due to the mix up that I believe happened. I scrolled through my post history and I see squat that screams "Ban him!" The only logical thing in my mind to cause the ban is me posting to that Plagiarism thread and then being banned by mistake instead of the other person I reported.

Also, sorry if creating a new name is grounds for banishing me to the pits of hell, but I figured waiting 2+ weeks with no response back (I emailed [email protected]) warranted a new name finally being created. Sure as hell don't have any reason given for why I'm banned, so I finally decided to just carry on with the thought that I was banned by accident. And I was just told about ban appeal posting over here at Meta, so that's why I only posted here now, and not weeks earlier.
