Now his account is ruined and he paid those 30$ for absolutely nothing. Nobody will ever buy this account, not even for 1$ and the actual owner will never use it for any kind of trade, as nobody will ever trust him for anything.

(P.S.: I also tagged the account.)
1 or 2 negative tags from DT is already too strong to damage the newbie reputation because of this case, so I don't think I will be the 5th user after you are the last.

Everyone can easily even for free create newbie account instead of paying $1 for this account. As for the loss of buying Cooper Member, it's simply out of necessity wanting to get past the restrictions of posting image. Anyone can buy copper members, even after Legendary if i am right.

What intrigued me the most is what was in this guy's head. It really baffles me. So you come here on Feb 17th, you are merely a Newbie user yet 10 days later you attempt to sell your account... believing that someone will actually buy it?! Lol. Buy it for what? For having the Copper membership, which costs 0.00129002 BTC, respectively 30$? And how much was he expecting to get, anyway? I assume that by selling the account he was trying to cover his "huge loss" or a part of it. Probably he would ask for 15$ or so. Is that really an amount worth ruining your reputation new "career" on the forum?

Really... I am always trying to understand people, to understand what is inside their minds, what they could possibly think when saying some things which are outrageous. But in some occasions I have absolutely no clue why someone would do a very idiotic thing, like in this case.

Now his account is ruined and he paid those 30$ for absolutely nothing. Nobody will ever buy this account, not even for 1$ and the actual owner will never use it for any kind of trade, as nobody will ever trust him for anything.

(P.S.: I also tagged the account.)

I don't know the reason for this user selling his newbie account which previously looked like it belonged to a project representative on the forum. A while ago there was a signature campaign about them on the forums, but it was only for a week before it was finally put on pause.
Maybe because on our conversation I told him the truth about his solana shitchain stopping all the time, and he couldn't handle the truth  Cheesy

So I don't think they will be banned for trying to sell their account. Maybe if they are spamming.
Nobody said they should be banned for selling his account, but he literally turned all his previous posts in spam fest with editing and adding same sentence, that is definition for spam.
I see moderators deleted most of his posts, but few of them are still visible, so maybe they can edit them and return original text from archive.

I guess Mods already deleted their posts.

Luckily I've made a proper archive of his post history (well, only first page, but it's good enough), it will be available for posterity in his trust feedback.

But my question is, what will people do with such newbie forum accounts? Anyone can create an account with an email, and it's free.

This is a Copper Member, hence it can post images and has some few more things allowed.
However, you do have a point, I'm not sure what the account owner was expecting...

I guess Mods already deleted their posts. Three posts remained, and all of them were the same. Since forum rules do not forbid selling forum accounts, it isn't worth banning. I heard that even Bitcointalk Mods bought and sold forum accounts in the early days. But, when scammers started scamming using purchased forum accounts, DT members started tagging them. I guess you already know that.

But my question is, what will people do with such newbie forum accounts? Anyone can create an account with an email, and it's free. If trolls and scammers want to return after getting banned, they can pay evil fees and return with a brand new account.

Don't waste your time, if mods delete his topics a lot of members will lose their weekly post counts for their campaign, maybe he wanted that to happen. Low rank accounts are not much lucrative other than the copper membership status, which anybody could just buy by themselves.
It's like he decided to do a quick suicide by over reacting this way.

[PAUSED] | Project #7777 AKA The L.U.C.K Project Signature Campaign

Currently all of his posts have been deleted, and that leaves only 3 posts which are all about accounts for sale.

I don't think they're a representative or involved at any official degree with the project, their posts on both threads are:

On the ANN thread,
https://ninjastic.space/post/61783407
https://ninjastic.space/post/61784145
https://ninjastic.space/post/61805007
https://ninjastic.space/post/61814823 [same as what's posted on bounty]

On the bounty thread,
https://ninjastic.space/post/61784205
https://ninjastic.space/post/61809607
https://ninjastic.space/post/61814815 [same as what's posted on ANN]

Which, IMO, if not yet another of their random posts, is one of their attempt to participate on this contest

[...]
Fan-Art Contest

A collection of 8/7 pieces.

[...]

I just glanced at their ANN, though, so I'm not sure what's the contest is about, but I think it's safe to assume they're not part of the team, because them selling the account would be illogical, given the campaign --and thus, the project-- were only on a hiatus and will come back at one point,

[...]
Unfortunately, we have to stop the campaign for now. But we will be back shortly. All the existing members will have priority. You can now remove the signature and avatar.

[...]
[...] Just to ask though. How "shortly" will you guys be away for?
Nothing guaranteed. maybe next week or may be next month or maybe next year.

[...]
The best we can do is tag and flag so that the account is rendered useless.

Agreed on this, I think the best approach here is to mark the account so that any buyer [a bit curious, who want to buy a newbie account, anyway?] wouldn't be interested to bid.

Edit: oh, it was a copper with one merit, so it's a junior copper instead of newbie

There is no strong stand from the forum administration against the sale of bitcointalk accounts if I understood that particular rule correctly;

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

So I don't think they will be banned for trying to sell their account. Maybe if they are spamming.

The best we can do is tag and flag so that the account is rendered useless.

Newbie ban happen more or less for two reasons:
1. Newbie account spamming too much
2. Newbie account discovered ban evading

Don't think it's worth a ban, but almost certainly a neg tag as has already been done. I was part of the related bounty and it seems like after 1 week the project was scrapped and now account for for sale.

I just notice that member GodsOfSolana edited ALL of his previous messages with text ''account for sale''
This shitcoiner is blatantly advertising he is selling his worthless newbie account and he is spamming forum in this process.

but aside from that I don't think a ban is necessary in his case.

I agree to that.
I would add that it may worth a negative tag for account selling, just in case only his post history gets wiped. (Edit: I've added the tag too)

What a weird post history that dude has--and by that I mean his writing style is strange.  I'm not sure if those archived posts were on-topic or not, but before he edited all of them he didn't seem to be the typical bounty-hunting shitposter (although perhaps just a different breed).

OP, I didn't read through every single post of his, but I didn't see any advertising or shilling in the ones that I did read.  I think this guy is a retard if he thinks anyone would buy his account, because that's not going to happen, but aside from that I don't think a ban is necessary in his case.  If the mods just wiped his post history as it stands, that would be appropriate because I'm assuming "account for sale" isn't on-topic in any of the threads those posts are in, but who knows?  The person who owns the account might want to use it again some day.

Then again, if he got banned I wouldn't lose any sleep over it either.  He'd probably just come back and start up with the same shit again.

This is GodsOfSolana account:

Archived posts:
https://ninjastic.space/search?author=GodsOfSolana

I think he should be permanently banned from bitcointalk forum, or at least all his messages should be all deleted by moderators.

I did report some of his posts but I had to create this topic to get more attention from mods and to hear oppinion from other members.

Topic is self-moderated for obvious reasons.
