Credit card is a boon and curse as well. It depends upon you how do you use it. At times people get carried away because you do not have to pay immediate money and do shopping or spend unnecessary since you have credit card and on other hand if you really require it or it’s an emergency this acts as a saviour too. Also benefits like rewards points, discounts on shopping, hotels, flights etc can be benefited if you use it rationally.

You can use your credit card to consolidate purchases and pay one bill at the end of the month. It's best to not avail of their interest and minimum payment facilities as you will pay alot in interest charges. Pay your bill in full every month, and you will increase your credit line, credit history, and you will have access to more credit from the modern financial system (think future car loans, home loans, etc).

Credit is not a bad thing if used wisely and correctly.

Yes, credit card is a double edged sword. Loads of perks like reward points, lounge access, discounts but can get easily trapped if caught in the slippery slope of spending more than you can afford  Embarrassed

I am aware that many people were trapped into credit card loans due to their personal desires, hopefully I won't do the same thing.

Anyone? Roll Eyes

Investors says credit card will keep you poor and also will affect cibil scores?

Definitely not true. Credit cards come with a lot of advantages as well as drawbacks. It totally depends on the way you use it. If you are a shop-alcoholic or someone who cannot control his urge to buy that latest phone or watch in the market then you should maintain your distance from credit card. But if you manage your finances well then credit cards can be an easy way to secure short term loans at zero interest rates. Credit cards also have other benefits such as reward points and they are fraud free. I know of cases where people use their credit cards actively and then use the points to get international airline tickets for free. Also, the liability in case of fraud is zero if you report any instance of fraud within 3 days of incident. So, credit cards can also be good. Obviously, if you don't pay back the dues on time and default on payments then it will affect your CIBIL score.
I am very good at financial management, only my loan is on the car which also paid at the right time every month that is why bank called me for this offer.

But in long term this is an attempt to make us shopcholic or something.

Anyway I am going to apply for it but will keep it as only for emergency use.

I would like to remind you of what you said a few weeks back. Looks like you have Signature Campaign on your mind.

Nothing related to crypto here so better to move this to off topic.
Even on the main section I got few views and never reply related to the topic I created.

Anyways topic moved,

Have somewords about the topic?

Yesterday I got a call from one reputed bank and said I am eligible for a credit card now based on my transaction history.

Do I need to take this offer or it will be a bad thing to accept it.
