also considering the length I guess it is not your first ban.

I guess you might have some answer for your first time ban

When I first learned of Bitcoins and this forum I made a account and posted a referral link in the wrong place I imagine. Never made any post in my life before that one and it PERMABANNED that account. I hadn't made 1 post prior to that one. I didn't know I was in the wrong place. I should have looked harder, yes for sure, but permabanned for it I think was unreasonable. They gave a link to protest the ban, but I just made another account.

That was your first post?
Well, you didn't lose anything. Creating another account gave you a fresh start.

Users don't normally get nuked or even temp banned for posting a ref link (unless you spam them all over). They're either deleted or threads trashed. Maybe you got mistaken as a spambot or something?

I don't understand how many newbies could be getting banned this easily and then re-create accounts just to complain about it, I've been here for 2 years and I've barely had any problems with the staff, they must be doing something wrong because trust me I can get banned within 5 seconds at other places particularly if I decide to question some of the beloved long term members there are on those kind of forums.

Pretty much sums it up:

People think they can do what they want and get away with it, and when ban hammer falls down, they start crying  Roll Eyes
Not worth arguing with them, theyre not saints, and bans are not for nothing.

Here a unofficial list of official forum rules as mantained by mprep. Repeated offences lead to increasing long bans. Also be aware that longer bans are handled if offender wear a signature ad (presumption of guilt).t
Try educate yourself in being a constructive and useful contributor to the forum instead of a spammy nuisance before your account will be permabanned.

Sometimes people have ref links or other signatures even though they're not part of a paid signature deal so it's possible that could be confused, but regardless the quality (or lack thereof) of the posts would still remain accurate.

If you are not part of a signature campaign then the standard for banning for shit posts is likely higher but it can still happen.

Shouldn't it be vieversa? Isn't the banning higher if he/she has a sig-ad?

No. The amount of spamming that an account would have to be doing would be greater if he is not wearing a paid signature then if he was wearing a paid signature for him to get banned.

However thinking about this for a little while, I would speculate that the OP really was wearing a paid signature but then took it down/off once he was banned so he could say that he is not wearing a paid signature.

There are a number of other rules that you can potentially have broken besides signature spamming that could have gotten you your ban

Like hilariousandco said, it's for short and unmeaningful posts. However, it's weird how they put "sig ad" in there if you claim you didn't have a sig ad. Maybe you had a sig ad at the time of posting the post that got you banned? Anyways, just wait out the ban, don't create a new account to post while the ban is in effect, as it is against the forum rules, and you risk getting permabanned for ban evasion.

What is your username and people might be able to help you? But it's likely just low quality/short posts.
