Barcelona for the moment will still be there in La Liga, as the tension is still growing and even if all issues are settled it will take time.
Technically it will be not legal if they get independence for Barcelona playing La Liga but it will give a major hit to many of them, so its possible or I believe its possible if they come in mutual consent about its future.

Catalonia had important role for Spain economic although they want to independent but Spain government won't let them to free and as hard as possible to defend it and i think Barcelona still can play for Laliga because there are plenty people outside Catalonia won't agreed about this

La Liga needs that Barca would stay in La Liga. We can't imagine this keague without FC Barcelona. La Liga would lost lot of money and popularity without Barca. And it would be boring to watch La Liga, because Real would win championship eadily, something similar like Bayern in Bundesliga.
But we can see plenty of examples when club from diferent countries playing in national championships. Even in Spain basketball league club from Andorra are playing. More examples - Monaco in France ligue, Wales clubs in EPL or championship, Liechtenstein Vaduz FC in Switzerland league.
Anyway, possible independence of Catalunya is only theorical thing. Now Spain government dissolved Catalunya parliament and imposses direct rule ofCatalunya.
it's really true if barcelona out of la league ,, the Spanish league will be monotonous and only real madrid will dominate ,, just one madrid competitor is Club Atlético de Madrid that maybe it too will not be a tough competitor as they level is still far below .. yes and even this will be ascertained

Where is Barcelona without La Liga? What kind of competition can they make in Catalonia? I think this will be the problem for all of them, According to La Liga rules " All clubs must be registered with their respective national federation and if Catalonia gains independence, it would no longer be part of Spanish federation." I read news about this and this can`t be compared with Wales or Monaco, here there is more tension, people will be forced to make decisions and when I saw police on the street maybe this can escalate in something bigger.
I voted for yes, La Liga will not be same if they change something, anything.

I do not want to lose Barcelona in the championship of Spain. A lot of things will lose world football. Only time will tell how it will really be.
From the way things are indeed going,  I don't think that the Catalan quest for Independence and autonomy is going to be a reality, The Spanish government is hellbent on it so without doubt Barcelona will still be a part of the La Liga.

Catalonia has been trying to get its freedom through voting in the Catalonia Referendum. This looks very serious as Spain even sent police to stop the vote for independence.

We all know that Barcelona is a club based in Catalonia.

The question is, if Catalonia is granted independence from Spain, should La Liga let them stay in the league or not?

Barcelona will stay on La Liga for sure, they have a big fanbase there and why need to change the league though ? Without Barcelona, La Liga ratings will drops for sure. Actually there are still many countries are not accept Cataliona freedom. Let's see what will happen.

Catalan just declared the independence, I hope La Liga allow Barcelona to stick with La Liga, there are many disadvantages if Barcelona decided to join another league if Barcelona join a French league or EPL they should start from the lowest league, and if Catalan make their own league, it's not competitive and they must wait a couple years to join UCL

Catalan government has declared independence backed by a minority of votes and that independence hasn’t been recognized by any serious government yet. I think only Maduro, from Venezuela.

Catalan government has been fired and face very serious charges. Most of them will be imprisoned soon.

So, they will stay in la Liga but because they are still in Spain. Had that been otherwise, I would strongly support they were kicked from la Liga. You cannot want to be independent have all the benefits of being attached to Spain.

The problem is when Barcelona decided to join another league(English or French) Barcelona have to start from the lowest tier of their league, and the distance would be a problem if they join to English league, good things is if they allow Barcelona to join straight into their highest tier league. and if Catalan creates their own league, it will not be competitive and it requires some years for Barcelona to join UCL.

This whole issue about independence only highlights how in a free world, yet there is modern day slavery, if catalonia wasn't so rich and supporting the Spanish gap would Spain have given a dam. No they wouldn't, so I feel they should dump the spl and come to Barclay's Premier League, that will be absolutely amazing, imagine Messi in England. I also feel they should leave cause the way the people were treated, by the government and police, it was simply horrible. So for me Barcelona should quit the league.

No other league in European championships, will not invite Barcelona to play. Do you have any idea what this threatens, for example, the French League 1 from FIFA or UEFA ?! They will play in their own championship of Catalonia and make people laugh.
there are some possibilities Barcelona can join another league and I'm sure they will accept it because it will boost their rating, on other hands, there is FC Andorra it's a football club based in Andorra that plays on Spanish league. I'm sure Barcelona will be accepted in La Liga with the change of sports law and the regulation, and I bet Spanish football federation will keep an eye on it since It's respectively beneficial for La Liga and Barcelona

If Catalonia will gain independence from Spain, it is unlikely that Barcelona will play in the Champions League, and especially in the Spanish League.

I think Barcelona should stay in La Liga as they are a very important and strong team. Of course politics and football should not mix agendas, but they totally do in so many ways. Probably nothing will change in Spain. But if it does I hope Barcelona can remain in La Liga for that is the reasonable thing to do.

Imagine La Liga without Grand Derby big financial loses for Spanish Football, even majority will vote for independence, that referendum is iligal in Spain,Catalonia independence it may happen after years from now

Faster Texas will be independent country than Catalonia
Exactly. La Liga would be desecrated without derby and without Barcelona it self. If they gain independence I think that Barca will not play in Spanis league. The solution is maybe some kind of economical, sport union. Not just football club but all the other franchise of Catalonial club is important part of Spanish sport history and its future. There was a country that has fallen apart, Yugoslavia. They had one of the strongest league in the Europe. Now, its parts(independent countries) have one of the weakest leagues on the European Continent.

Hi everyone )
I think FC Barcelona should and will stay in La Liga because of many reasons.
The first reason it is hard to find league in same power of La Liga if we like or no teams in Spain very strong and we see that  in last 5 years, in champion league [real Madrid(3 times win it), Barcelona(1 time win it), Atletico( 2 times in final) ] in Europe league[ Séville( 3 times win it)].
The second reason it is Real Madrid yes Real Madrid, we all know how much Barca fans hate Real and when they win a Clasico they win a trophy, so how fans of Barca leave La Liga and miss the chance to show the world who the best between them.
The third reason an important one is what level Barcelona will play, I mean if Barca  leave La Liga and found another league does she play in Professional Classification or beginner Classification and if she plays in Professional Classification I'm  sure she will miss play champion league for one year, do you think her fans want or accept that I don't think that.
Finally, The official spokesman for the Blaugrana, Josep Vives says on 13 September 2017"Barcelona do not think of such a scenario, simply, we want to win the Spanish La Liga, and the same applies to the Champions League." and he said too "The club does not talk about the political side, we are not forced to discuss it (politics), but yes about football, how to improve the competition and be more competitive", so it clearly that Barcelona wants to stay in LA Liga.

In my opinion yes, I don't think they can afford to lose such team. Too much money is involved(unfortunately it is all about money).
Monaco is a separate country from France and yet they are still allowed to play in the French Ligue 1. I don't think Barcelona will be sanctioned because of this if it ever happens.
True, but Barcelona is not the only one football club from Catalonia.
If they allow them to compete then they should allow all clubs to compete.

Politics should stay out of sports. Now with political struggles and issues, both spanish football and FC Barcelona face a real problem. La liga will lost many fans and viewers, and barcelona will be affected on both sports level and economic level. This problem should be solved otherwise the map of football would change if Barcelona leaves the spanish league.

La Liga will lose a lot of fans, that's right. Now La Liga Rating is one of the biggest. But the Rating will go down considerably if Barcelona do not play again in La Liga because there is nothing interesting that we can see. So we recommend that Barcelona stay in La Liga if they do not want something bad to happen.

Its not a matter of staying or not... You need to look above politics and follow the money. Football is a big business. Can you imagine the money Barcelona would lose if they leave the La Liga. No more money from TV rights, no more money from Champions League, no more money from sponsorship... If Barca leaves La Liga that will be the end of Barcelona Football Club. That is the reality... So politics is politics, but shit walks and money talks.

Laliga and Barcelona both of them are a part of football history in spain and i personally cannot imagine if Laliga without Barcelona and football should be not to be linked with politic and also football should be independent with all kind of these so i think whatever the results if this i think spain government and Catalonia should be allowed Barcelona still play on Laliga

Right off the bat, whatever the outcome for Catalonia, the question of Barcelona in the La Liga should only have one answer: the one where everybody wins. I want to say politics shouldn't be in football, but it's difficult to ignore 125 years of politics that is so much of the identity of the maroon and blue. Their flags don't bear the Spanish shield, their chants have so much under and overtones.

And let that all remain. Welsh clubs play in the English league. Brunei used to play in the Malaysian league and now in Singapore's, despite softened but tense politics. Catalan clubs will play in La Liga if they are good enough. No question.

Whatever happens with the world of politics should not affect the world of sport. If Catalonia gained its freedom, Barcelona should remain at La Liga. And if La Liga wanted to take Barcelona out, at least they need time to do so. Barcelona is a big team and gives a bunch of contribution on it.
La Liga should think again about the achievements given by Barcelona. Especially in the last 10 years Barcelona became one of the best in Europe and even in the world. It would be a mistake and big loss if La Liga decide to cross out Barcelona from La Liga.

Although I do agree that politics should stay out of football, it is not the case for Barcelona though. Most of their management staff and the fans themselves actually consider the rivalry between the Madridistas as a political statement. Although that ruins football for other people, it is just so ingrained in the people that they cannot just easily break away from it.

It's hard to imagine La Liga without Barcelona, and to be honest I don't think Catalonia will ever get what they want, but if it really happens then I think they could be treated just like Monaco. They are independent but they still play in french league. Don't know if there are similar cases around the world, but it would be unfair if they were just kicked out, without the opportunity to stay where they always were.

This is politics and wherever their political heads settle I think should be where they'd opt for. I don't think any of the leagues be it la liga or ligue Un isn't fit for them so they should have no problem playing in a good league even though I'd prefer they stay in la liga.

I think that Barcelona will never leave the spanish Liga. It's going to be a disaster for both Barcelona and la Liga. Barcelona will loose lots of money from payperview rights and sponsors, and La Liga will be boring and do not attract football fans anymore. La Liga is now the only league in europe to compete with the english Premier League, so, they can't afford loosing a team like Barcelona. Political issues should stay out of sports because it ruins the game.

I think so too, they will prefer to stay in their he la liga to rival Real Madrid than to leave for the uninspiring French league one. I know it will be easier for them to dominate there but innlaliga it's better for them really.

It will be great if they stay and play with the la liga but if not they can join the French league un and add some spice to it . I know every league in Europe would relish to have a team like Barcelona playing in it and since geography favors the French should they pull out of Spain I think it will be a different lige 1 and we'd all live to watch.

The issue is not really in the hands of Barcelona at all but rather the Spanish FA, They can choose to kick Barca and Espanyol out of the league , Even the president of the Spanish FA said that but we all know that it;s not going to be possible at all, they are going to have t come to a compromise on how to deal with the whole issue.

Whatever the case is, Barcelona should stay in the La Liga. without Barcelona, you can't imagine this league. Barcelona is one of the vital team in this league. if they will leave this Spanish football then both Barcelona and La Liga will lose its glamour. Barcelona and La Liga are being a complementary element for each other. so Barcelona should stay in there.

Of course they should stay. They together with Real Madrid give the rhythm to the La Liga. If Barcelona was to stay out then Real Madrid would have a very easy road to win almost always the La Liga. That would be not good for fans as the beautiful game of Barcelona would be a big miss for the La Liga. I am sure they will be staying.

Depending on whether catalonia allows Barcelona to keep playing in La Liga or not. Because I'm sure Barcelona still want to play in La Liga because La Liga has been running very long. If Catalonia wants to make a separate competition, Barcelona will not get a rival and the competition will not attract.

They should bugger off. What Catalans cannot do is to want to separate from Spain but still having the advantages of being in Spain. For the Spanish League it would be better if they stay, of course, otherwise it would be boring because Real Madrid would win almost everything but bear in mind that the president of the Spanish League (LFP), Javier Tebas, recently said that they won’t be able to play the Spanish League if they separate from Spain.

They have to stay in La Liga and do what is done by Cardiff City in the Premier League. Cardiff City are a club from Wales and they play in the Premier League. So Barcelona also should remain in La Liga because if without Barcelona, La Liga has no appeal to be enjoyed. Real Madrid will not have a worthy rival, they will be very dominating. La Liga ratings could drop dramatically.
