That said, Barclays is just providing the backbone for Circle to make its fiat payments.

Barclays has some BTC track record. They were Mt Gox's UK bank and Intersango's. I think discovering that they were in the Bitcoin business came as a surprise to Barclays as they shut them down.

They've also been talking about doing stuff with Safello in terms of handling charitable donations. I've used Circle a few times now. It's miraculous compared to many UK services.

Well finally banks showing off what they were trying to do on the last 7 years since bitcoin borned and shaked the world with its concept, lets see how good or bad it might be for bitcoin.

I love Circle.  It's the easiest way to buy bitcoin for me, and I've tried several.  I'm not surprised when the banks express interest in cryptocurrency, though I think bitcoin's market cap is far too small and bitcoin itself is far too speculative for banks to take much of an interest.
