BitAsean is traded on etherdelta right now and because I live in one of the Asean countries, I thought this was great news and I almost tricked to buy some on the exchange. Logically, if this step was taken by the Asean countries regarding tokenized currency for the involving countries. Won't it become sensational stories throughout the countries? Thank you for in depth research on this scam token. This BitAsean token does smells fishy in a way.

BAS is traded here: https://hitbtc.com/exchange/BAS-to-ETH
Their website is here: https://www.bitasean.org/

Asean has been created in 1967, and their website is here: http://asean.org/

I waited BAS whitepaper to post this, now I am 100% sure that BAS is a scam.

Here is my analysis.

1) Their website is a simple template from a free hosting https://www.wix.com/  A 15 yo kid could make it.
2) there is no names for the owner the "The Bitcode Team"
3) the address does not exist or is incomplete. Rama VII Bangkok Thailand, is like "Beach Road Miami USA", no number?
4) the owner pretend to be in Thailand but speak/write/read perfect English, plus connect in the trollbox at times that show that he is not in the Thailand timezone (between 1am to 6am in Thailand???). I am in Thailand +10 years, no Thais are reading/writing English that way.
5) the owner and some token holders are spreading fake news in the trollbox to push the people to buy, then dump their tokens and go. This happened several time and the investors just were left with loss.
6) their white paper is the most unprofessional I have ever seen. It is a copy paste of the website. No details of any partnerships, nothing about how their wallet will work and still no name on the team, no address.

Finally, BAS is pretending to be the Asean crypto currency, but Asean is not empowering any currency at all. It is not like Europe with a central banking and a money, each country has its own money and this is not going to change.
The BitAsean team never met with any officials from Asean, never contacted Asean for any purpose. They use the Asean name but do they have the right to do it?

Here are the numbers and contact of Asean.
 (+6221)7262991, 7243372
 (+6221)7398234, 7243504
 [email protected]

Conclusion, BitAsean is a scam, anyone can make a cheap website and pretend to be an Asean currency but at one point if the Official Asean find out that their name is misused, these people might get in trouble - reason why they stay anonymous..

If you invest, do it but knowing the facts, it is your money, speculating on BAS is your responsibility, I have made some $ trading this token, so I can understand the attraction.

I will update / correct this post if new facts comes and hopefully, the team behind BAS will provide more transparency.
