Basalt wool is the best warmer for your house!
It’s September and winter is coming. Autumn forest is getting colder and colder day by day. A frosty night air in flowing into the holes of the house… Well, we are not going to write a longread devoted to the winterization and fixing the holes. We’d better tell you how to save your money using electrical heating and power consumption and totally enjoy autumn and winter evenings. And we will also tell you a bit about basalt as we are fond of this stone. In addition, you will learn about the project of our basalt quarry which is going to launch ICO very soon.
You can warm your house with basalt or glass wool, foam materials, clay. Basalt fibre is the most expensive material. But compared to the others, it has the best technical characteristics and this material is much more reliable and efficient. But why
Firstly, basalt wool is warmer! It’s looser than glass wool and the fibres of basalt hold cold air and it’s not allowed to enter your cosy house.
Secondly, basalt is more waterproof than glass. It imbibes water but doesn’t hold it or let it leak in the building. Once we carried out an experiment: we placed the basalt wool slab right into the tub with water and then put a heavy stone on it to make an experiment more complicated. In the end of the experiment, the edges of the slab got wet but it was still dry inside. This experiment has proved that water doesn’t leak in the building and mould doesn’t appear on the walls if the installation is correct.
Thirdly, basalt is chemically and biologically inert material. It doesn’t burn and doesn’t evolve harmful substances while heating. It doesn’t consist limestone so mice don’t eat it — both your cat and you will be sleeping tight.
And finally, basalt fibre is very durable. It almost doesn’t shrink in difference to glass wool which consists of materials that can get crystallized over some time. The service lifetime of basalt fibre can reach 50-60 years! Just imagine — this is quite enough for you and your children! Warm your house today and it will still be warm and cosy.
We have one more important argument in favour of basalt wool: it perfectly eliminates sounds. You can make parties, listen to music loudly, play the musical instrument and not disturb your neighbours. For your part, you can efficiently “hide” from the noise in your house. The manufacturers of the basalt wool even produce special demonstration cabins: you enter it and all the sounds of the world around disappear.
The final important fact about basalt slabs — they are easy to transport because basalt doesn’t shower down. It’s absolutely safe for people’s health and you can easily install it by yourself.
Please take into account that the needed density of basalt depends on the part of the house which is planned to be warmed. The level of density should be less for roofs and mansards. Speaking about walls, the density of basalt wall should be higher. You will be able to relax and enjoy reading a book while lying on the sofa and not be afraid of cold.
The main reason of the high price of the basalt wool in Russia is poorly developed production. Basalt is extracted in the mountains where it’s crushed out into the gravel and then transported to the processing plant. Crushing machinery cost a lot while very few basalt products are produced in our country. BazCoin ( the project of basalt quarry developing in the Arkhangelsk region) is launching the campaign of selling tokens in December. The raised funds will be spent on buying crushing equipment. In the long term, the company is planning to open its own plant and produce basalt wool.
