I have the same question.

What cost an airdrop?
Let's say do send to 100K or 1M wallets?

Any idea?

I think that the smartcontract will cost nothing to distribute the token into the participant. The fact that the cost will be applied after the token already sent into the ethereum holders. That's my opinion about how the smartcontrat works. but you can try to visit in the ethereum blog to get more.
It is not nothing because even cents have value. Ethereum smart contract transaction is cheaper than bitcoin maybe because token from ERC-20 has no value yet until it listed in exchanges.
Not all airdrops ask for donations because most of them are just giving it for free.
Suspicious projects are those asking donations mandatory just to receive a coin from an airdrop.

Any transaction has a cost then how much does the airdrop cost for the dev if the dev has to send the coins to 1000 people?
Thanks

Are you looking to do an airdrop or what, the essence of airdrop is to look at the big picture, build a strong community and interest in  your project, and again the developer win most when the project become successful, so the 1 or 2 ether for transaction cost to not count that much

Does anyone knows what was the biggest erc-20 airdrop by the moment of time?
Maybe deeponion and cartaxi is the biggest one. i'm not sure about it because i never joined the airdrop because my rank hold me outside.

DeepOnion isn't on ethereum, it's on it's own network so it doesn't count.
Most airdrops on Ether are around 20 million tokens. If you have 3,000 recipients, it is possible to transfer each transaction at about $0.005 (21,000 Gas at 1 GWEI). Therefore 3,000 * 0.005 = $15. I think with tokens you normally need about 50,000 gas to stop it failing, so that makes it more like $50.

You are the one who usually pay the fees, if not, then the developers will have to pay a fortune because the good airdrops are giving a lot of coins daily/weekly.
but it is not more than one or two cents worth of gas, and it is less than 0.0001 ethereum i guess, maybe without one zero, but i dont know the exactly rates of each cent worth of ethereum, lol.
but why are you using airdrops? why dont you try to join another system instead of using those kind of scammy projects?

most of them will ask for small donations to pay for GAS
The donation is not asked by the airdrop. Gas is like a normal fee in BTC but it is payed in Ether to ethereum miners. For a single transaction it is close to nothing but you should still compare it to the token price. Sometimes airdrop tokens are not even worth their fee.

You can easily send multiple transactions for a minimal cost. All you need to do is set the gwei price to 0.01 and gas to 200k. Just note that setting the gwei price this low will mean the mining/confirmation of your transaction may be slower. If you are not in a hurry anyway this will do just fine.

The token has bounty allotted depend on the percentage they want to give. In the airdrop situation, they will give 50% or more than 50% to bring the token in the market. In every transaction, it will cost 0.01$ for the transaction fee. It is not cost too much so you can get almost 80% of your airdrop token. I just used my airdrop token for the ethereum gas, I will save my airdrop token for the gas.

It depends on gas fee used etc but I would imagine that for 1000 or so accounts it doesn't total much more than $20, it's really not a big consideration or amount, more of an inconvenience than anything.

The cost is very minimal compared to the amount of tokens they are keeping for themselves.  Usually it's around 10% of the tokens and many addresses in the airdrops will belong to the dev and team members.  That's how they can dump the tokens freely without anyone noticing.

Maybe that is why some of them are looking for donations for this airdrop to be fulfilled.
I dont really know about the rules but I know everything has a fee.
But if it goes successful then 1 percent is a large amount for profit.

99% of airdrops will give "points" on their website. And you can't transfer them into your wallet (at least not until you will meet some criteria...).

So they don't have to pay transactions fees.
So it is just like an email notification then?
