P2P exchange already exists it just isn't user-friendly yet and most approaches to the problem are quite limited. Check out my exchange if you get chance: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-coinbend-a-functional-decentralized-cryptocurrency-exchange-1154211 It was only launched a few days ago but the software already works for trading most alt-coins p2p if you use it to trade directly with people who have the coins. The exchange currently has no p2p matching or order book so you have to search out traders yourself but hey - its a solid start.
