According to the IBF, they rate Bakole as their number one and mandatory challenger to the IBF champions if he wins his bout against Ajagba in May 2025. His promoter stated that they will try to invoke the fight immediately. That means if the winner of the Dubois vs Parker was to have a unification fight with Usyk, they will have to pay Bakole to step aside.

Dubois will be up against a tough opponent, this will be a difficult fight. If this goes to a points decision it probably favours Parker but this will be close.

Here's the face-off,

Dubois though shouldn't understand Parker and his mindset should not be that Parker will be an easy fight for him because it's not. But we can't take away the confidence of Dubois as he thinks he is the new face of British Heavyweight.

Parker and Dubois seem as though they are genuinely nice down to earth people. They are supremely confident they will win their fights and that is not a bad thing but what stands out is their lack of arrogance.

I have a lot of respect for Parker because is humble in his interviews. Let us not forget he was previously WBO champion before he lost to Joshua on a points decision in 2018. Now Joshua has stated he believes Parker will win the fight.

I was confident Dubois would destroy Joshua. If he gets past Parker in an emphatic manner, Usyk will probably not want to face him but will have to unless he surrenders his titles. With a possible unification title fight for the winner, this fight has a lot of significance.

Although it is said that this two had a heated argument. It's far from that, Lol, or maybe this two are not used in trash talking. Because as much as they tried to have a little bit of discussion, you can see the reaction of other boxers here, they are just all smiling when they go back and forth.

Dubois is hungry to get a chance at fighting Usyk again especially after he believes he won that fight and beat Usyk. He believes it was not a low blow and he won by knockout but the fight continued and Usyk won several rounds later.

Usyk knows he is getting older and those younger boxers such as Dubois and even Parker as well as senior professionals such as Zhang are not scared to face him and maybe eventually he could get caught out. It is possible that is part of the reason why he wants to fight at cruiserweight.

The free lottery will be open until the day of the fight: Win c.$10 on Free Lottery#5: Dubois vs Parker

Probably, or maybe he was hinting of retiring already that's why he wants to go back to CW and then dominate it and then hang up his gloves?

Perhaps he might be thinking that he has nothing to proved already, he was been undisputed in CW and HW and might be losing his motivation as he has beaten all the best boxers in both division.

Or just reclaim his lost glory in the CW and beat those new names in this weight class.
And the CW division makes it more interesting for Usyk,

Jai Opetaia the IBC champion knockouts out  David Nyika cold. And if Usyk view Opetaia as a challenge, then it's good that we might see this two fight in the CW. So still a lot of options for Usyk whether to go in HW and fight Dubois again and as what he promised goes down to CW.

I have no idea what he would accomplish because when he spoke about it he did not state the reason he wanted to return to cruiserweight. You correctly mentioned the financial factor in this, he will definitely be getting more money in the heavyweight division therefore it is safe to assume Usyk has other things on his mind. Maybe he wants to return to cruiserweight for nostalgia as he might have fond memories of being undisputed champion at that weight.

@JollyGood - what will be Usyk accomplished though if he goes back to cruiserweight?

And isn't it he already unify the cruiserweight division way back 2018-2019. Perhaps the landscape has change a bit with new names in the division. And there are the likes of Zurdo Ramirez or Badou Jack although champion in recess.

And far as paycheck goes, he might not get what he is used to when he goes back to cruiserweight as the champion can't bring enough in the table for him.

Do you think Usyk will follow up on his comments about dropping back down to cruiserweight or do you think he will fight the winner of the Dubois vs Parker fight in order to have another unification title bout?

Usyk knows Dubois is hungry for revenge after he lost in a highly contentious fight between them and he also knows Parker is a tough opponent too therefore this could be his only chance of trying to retire from heavyweight boxing as a unified champion.

I believe there is a strong possibility Usyk will not wait for Dubois or Parker and instead he will surrender the belts in the coming weeks order to drop back down to cruiserweight.

Parker deserves his opportunity at trying to claim the IBF title because he beat Zhang and Wilder in his previous two fights when many others were running scared of facing either of them. Dubois will not find it easy but he should come through and win the fight even though Parker will be fierce and focused. I doubt Parker will capitulate in the manner that Joshua did and could even win the fight as result of his experiences but Dubois has to be favourite.

Definitely, it is a impressive resume that he got, winning his last 5. Although he had lost to the following:

Anthony Joshua
Dillian Whyte
Joe Joyce

And for sure, there are those who loves to bet on the underdog, and Parker will be what we call, a live one as he can pull a upset here.

We have heard on many occasions about how Dubois intends to participate in a heavyweight unification fight in 2025 but now according to his manager it seems Parker is convinced he will beat Dubois and set up his own unification fight with the winner of the Fury vs Usyk rematch.

When you look at the fights Parker has had, you know there is a definite possibility he could win:

Andy Ruiz Jr,
Anthony Joshua
Zhilei Zhang
Deontay Wilder
Dillian Whyte
Joe Joyce
Carlos Takam
Derek Chisora

Quote
“I think you would have to say that Dubois is favourite because he’s such a big puncher. He does get worn out Parker. He’s fit and strong but he doesn’t punch up there with the big boys. He’d have to try and punch and move for 12 rounds.

“Dubois has the confidence of the AJ win and has that IBF title. I think if he puts the pressure on Parker after round 5 or 6 he can take it into the second half of the fight and starts closing in.

If this fight goes full distance. Dubois usually finish his fights in first half Cheesy While Parker has been going for full distance multiple times. Parker has plenty experience of going full distance with heavy hitters. Like you have said, twice Parker returned from the world of dead and still won. Maybe that will be a key to bet Dubois. But on the other hand, Dubois is on hype right now and that also helps him to win or be more prepared morally.

And that's why this fight, although others might not think that Parker is a worth opponent, but I do think the opposite. As you have said, Parker has been with heavy hitters and and then going full 12 rounds. So if the fights goes 12 rounds, maybe he will have a chance.

On the other hard, another heavy hitter in Dubois, so the question is, can he land his power on Parker on the first six rounds? What will be Parker's reaction, can he just eat and absorb that fight and still standing? Can Dubois go full distance without emptying his gas tank and gets tired going into championship round and Parker already withstand his power can upset him?

My final conclusion, I have to say it, Dubois wins this fight.
I have the same point of view  Grin

It's good to see that Parker has given a chance to crack the hottest HW champion that we have right now. I mean he earn his spot here beating two hard hitting punchers in Zhang and Wilder.
Parker definitely was a worthy contender for a heavyweight title bout. With Fury and Usyk having their own battle later this month, it was always going to be more likely to be fighting Dubois rather than either Fury or Usyk. The fact the IBF title is at stake means Parker got what he deserved with his title fight. As for Dubois, he will want to set up a unification fight with the winner of the Fury vs Usyk fight therefore will not want relinquish his title. It will b an excellent match up between these two fantastic boxers.

If it goes to a points decision that would make the winner uncertain, wee have seen far too many dubious scores from judges scorecards and neither boxer deserves that. I hope the fight is settled before the judges scorecards have any meaning.

I have added a free lottery for the Dubois vs Parker fight in Games and Rounds. If you want to participate, make a post there and select a number. It is a free lottery  Grin

Against Zhang he was down twice and if I'm not mistaken, he was down twice, but he keep his composure and then uses his speed and ring IQ to beat Zhang. And this is going to be a good fight and let's see if Dubois can adjust to the boxing IQ as I think that Parker could be a live underdog here. And I'm seeing that this fight goes to distance and maybe Dubois will be awarded by a unanimous decision win.

Parker is a brave boxer, I have a lot of respect for him. He boxes without fear and will put up a stern test for Dubois but it will probably not be enough to win him the bout. I am confident Dubois will win.
I have seen Dubois' greatness in the ring when he fought and defeated Jarrell, Filip and also Joshua, I enjoyed the boxing between Dubois vs. Joshua, I remember very well how Dubois made Joshua fall down in the fifth round, Dubois has really done well to defend his IBF title in September 2024, this proves that Dubois really wants to sit in the IBF heavyweight class for the next year against Parker, I wouldn't hesitate to bet some of my money on Dubois vs. Parker is coming.

I remember very well what Dubois said, he will show that he is truly a true boxer, a fighter must do his best and must have one final conclusion as a fighter and Dubois really wants to destroy him, even though Dubois knows Parker has a ton of experience, Dubois really wants to finish him when he faces in the ring with Parker next 2025, honestly I can't wait to watch Dubois vs. Parker.

My final conclusion, I have to say it, Dubois wins this fight.

So Joshua realized he touched the lions tail after the fighting with Dubois huh?
Joshua made that mistake once and there is no way he would want to do make that mistake again. He knows if he gets in the ring with Dubois he will get beaten badly therefore did not trigger the rematch clause. We hear stories about him waiting to try to fight the loser of the Fury vs Usyk rematch but I believe that is a smokescreen to hide the fact he is scared of getting in the ring with Dubois again.

It's really going to be a game to watch and see how it goes. I'm in for Dubois.

It's just weird that Joshua didn't activated the rematch clause against Dubois, when he lost to Ruiz and Usyk he immediately take the rematch and won against Ruiz in the second fight and we all know how it went against Usyk.
If Joshua was convinced he would lose again, it makes sense for him to avoid activating the rematch.

From wikipedia: Joshua is waiting for Usyk vs Fury 2 fight to happen, and only then he will take a decision who he wish to fight next. When people say that it is time for Joshua to retire, then if he had listened to that, he would wish his last fight to be most profitable. Usyk or Fury will bring him more millions than a rematch against Dubois. And last thing I have heard about Joshua was an injury in November. Perhaps he hasnt activated rematch clause because of that, as he would have little time to prepare till February 2025.

If he is looking for more money, yeah, the best is to wait for the Usyk vs Fury winner, although there is a big possibility that if Fury wins, there could be a trilogy. Or if Usyk wins, I doubt that there will be a fight between them as Usyk has beaten AJ already. And with that, I'm thinking that the real target of AJ is Fury, as we have been waiting for this fight to and it's long overdue.

And it goes to show the Dubois could be the next big thing for the Heavyweight, very young, although still raw, but it seems that he is improving in his every fight. And as what we expect, Parker for sure will be worth every penny for this fight as he will test not just physically, but mentally as well how strong Dubois is.

So doesn't make sense that at this point of his career, he will be somewhat adamant to take a rematch against Dubois because his mindset is that he will be losing again? But good for Parker though, he deserved this fight, although Parker is not even rated by the IBF body, but still he was given the chance here.

I'm also for Dubois here, he will be tested, but I think he will going to crack Parker here.

So Joshua realized he touched the lions tail after the fighting with Dubois huh? That's was a tough sabotage for a greater fighter like Joshua. You know Huh 😆.
Actually Joshua disappointed lot of fans at his lost of the match because he fans already dominated supporters during the match. I myself don't even know what went loosed on Joshua and Dubois had to beat him like teaching him a lesson of his life like that. Indeed a disappointment from Josh as wasn't expected. He never fought like he was defending his title of the IBF.
Well. Let's assume he has not come for a rematch because he might be cooking himself up for a big returns.
Parker has much been in good position based on his match histories to counter Dubois on man to man other than how hell he beat Josh up.
I know Dubois isn't going to hold the title for a lifetime but I don't think he'd give up so easily as Josh neither do I believe Parker will be defeating him on their up coming match soon as stated. It's really going to be a game to watch and see how it goes. I'm in for Dubois.

BREAKING NEWS!!

IBF Heavyweight Title Fight

DUBOIS
vs
PARKER

22nd February 2025

Dubois will defend his IBF title against Parker on 22nd February 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

There was always an immediate rematch clause between Dubois and Joshua but it was never activated. The reason why Joshua decided to avoid getting in the ring with Dubois again was fear of being battered again. I do not think the loss affected Joshua more than any other loss but the manner in which he was destroyed by Dubois was the reason Joshua avoided the rematch. Dubois is supremely confident now he is a world champions but he remains fully focused.

I think Parker deserved his chance at a title again and this will be a fantastic fight because both boxers deserve to be sharing the ring together with the winner taking the IBF belt and will probably fight the winner of the Fury vs Usyk rematch.

Parker beat Wilder and then Zhang in his last two fights when many boxers would have avoided them but Parker is a phenomenal boxer. After losing back to back fights in 2018 to Joshua and then Whyte, he lost in 2022 to Joyce. His record stands at a respectable W30 L3 and considering he is just 32 years old he can be around for a few years regardless of the outcome.

I will update the thread with more details as they are released to the media.
