Which is the most recommended wallet to do it? I will do it on a virtual Linux just to be on the safe side.
I just used Electron Cash, from a VM indeed. It's always safer to use the link on https://www.bitcoincash.org/#wallets than trust a random link somewhere on the internet, but you'll see it's the same link.

Thank you everyone. Locking the thread.

So i am not familiar with these forks and how they work. I do know that, during a specific point in time both the forks took a snapshot of the blockchain and our balances were carried over to those altcoins. Now my question is a simple one, if i claim my BCH and BTG, will i lose my BTC? Like if i had 0.1 BTC, that would mean at the time of snaphot i would have 0.1 BCH and 0.1 BTG Respectively, If i sell those, will i lose my BTC too?

Bch have fully functional replay protection, btg should in the coming days.

My suggestion would be to move your btc and bch to 2 different addresses you control, after that you can claim your btc without fear (when this will be available)

Thank you all for your replies, I will follow your instructions and move out my btcs to a new address and claim my BCH from the old addresses.

You might lose them, due to lack of replay protection, or a compromised wallet. I don't trust any fork wallets on my PC.

BTG is still under development for making any transaction.

Gotcha, i will wait for it then.

The solution is simple: move your Bitcoin to a new address before exporting private keys to claim any Bitcoin Fork.

BCH has replay protection, meaning transactions made between BCH addresses are not valid in the BTC chain. So, you are not going to loose any BTC since both of these coins work on different chains. Similarly, if you have your BTG in any of the supported exchanges, you can sell it out as well without any hassle. However, the so called community-activated hardfork of bitcoin which has got no support from the community, BTG is still under development for making any transaction.
